Hell yeah!! The yell I let out in the bar drew all kinds of unwanted attention. That could have been soooo ugly. Any lesser man would have ended up in the fence at the bottom. Instead Wes used it to square off the corner.

I have not a had a save like that coming down that steep of a hill and doing 40 mph but I have had a couple "hands off the bars smacking my chin on the bars" saves before. I've also had a save where my butt was on top of the bars before. Even though I saved it, I pulled off the track just to compose myself!
That save took a little wind out of his sails though. Still badass.

That could have been season ending with badly broken bones- the worst possible place to go over the bars.
Peick is tough as nails and eats concrete for breakfast, that's for sure.

I think the camera took away the awe factor to the general fan, but that hill he was about to fall down is so steep. It would have not been pretty. If he goes over then So Cal may need to worry about a chain reaction with the proximity to the San Andreas fault line Silly

I jumped up out of my seat with a big ohh crap too, I couldn't believe what I saw. Growing up riding those hills I can tell u if had he gone over I don't think he would of gotten away with any minor injuries he would of been ko'd. He would of of rotated over for another 30-50 feet n landed in the bumps. And to think that he probably couldn't of saved it if it got any worse, he was so far over the front and rotating. I honestly about shit myself.

If you knew how steep or big that hill really is you wouldn't be so casual about it. The first time you actually see the enormity of those slopes in person you would understand why we all are shitting our pants over it!

If he didn't save it like he did I wouldn't have been surprised if he launched over the berm and over the fence. You could tell it shook him. I'm sure we all had our hand slip off the handlebars before, I just wish I would have been that lucky.

What's a little funny is that it probably happened so fast that Weston didn't realize what happened until he exited the corner after. He just let his instinct take over and that saved it.

Hand slipped off 2 weeks ago after 1 hour max on my new ktm150sx and resulted in dislocated shoulder, broken humerus, torn cartilage and tendon-ligament damage. Recovering from surgery and not even close to what Westons could have been. Amazing save.

Some of ya'll are jaded. I haven't even seen the slopes in person and I needed a fresh pair of shorts after that. Had he gone full over it woukd have been a long ride down to the bottom with an ugly dismount. Good save WP
