My 4 year old son and nephew are both just getting into size 5t shirts and pants. What size moto gear should fit?

Also any info on chest protector/neck protection compatibility?

Sounds like the Fox knee/elbow guards are the best bet from my limited research.

The training wheels come off in the spring so we
wanna be prepared. We need a peewee gear buyers guide for dummy dads.

I bought gear for my son when he was 3 years old and he is small. The smallest gear I found was Answer. Paints size Y16 (the paints are pretty adjustable) and XXS jersey. Now he is 5 1/2 he wears a Y18 maybe this summer Y20 and XS Jersey. Fox Also makes some cool gear I bought for him.

Boots I bought Fox Racing Peewee boot size 10 and they fit him pretty good even this summer but they were tight. I will be ordering him some new ones this year.

I hope this helped.

Here are a few pictures when he was 2 1/2 and when he just turned 3 years old in October, that was his Halloween costume. lol

My three and a half year old son is a 4/5T due to being tall, but it is hard to find pants that fit due to his skinny waist. I got him Y22 pants and XS jersey, and they fit him pretty good. Having the adjustable waist helps.

What kind of bike do you have him on? Good to see others starting young, best of luck.

My son is built like yours and he'll be 4 in 6 weeks.
He's now on a Crf50 and my great nephew is on a pw50(soon crf50 as well). We have a flat 10 acre field with a couple turn tracks. I need to buy a tractor to make some obstacles "for the kids".
They started riding pedal bikes without training wheels at 3.5 this summer and i give a lot of credit to the strider bike for that. All fall they were hounding me to take the training wheels off the dirt bikes, but I didn't feel like they were quite big enough yet.

Still wondering about chest protector compatibility with extra neck protection. If anyone has a lot of used gear I would be interested.

My son turns 4 early Jan. We bought him a PW 50 for Christmas this year. He is a smaller kid and still in 3t clothing.we bought fly racing y20 pants and they will be WAY to long. Also an xs jersey which looks like a dress on him. I had a difficult time trying to find the correct size but at least the boots and helmet fit correctly.

When my son was still in toddler sized clothes (he's 10 now) I would buy fox pee wee gear and boots. They were the only ones that had toddler size. Anything in youth is going to be big.

What kind/size helmet do you guys have your kids in? I wouldn't mind getting my son (2.5 years old) a full face helmet just to get used to it. I made the mistake of letting him ride his stryder without a bike helmet at first and it was hell to get him to start wearing one although he eventually got used to it. I'd like to get him used to wearing a full face before I put him on a PW later this year.

We bought a fly racing small helmet. Fits good and our little guy is small for his age.

My son (a very small 5 years old) wears Answer everything. The Answer Pee Wee stuff is good and they also make very small sizes. He has a PeeWee Chest Protector and PeeWee Boots size 10 (the smallest size they have). I would say use answer or go to a tucker rocky dealer where they have the catalog or go on tucker rocky's website.

I bought the cheap ebay helmet combo with gloves and goggles for about $35. the gloves are way too big,for while they are on training wheels. The Small size was ok from 2 to 3.5 but my kid is big for his age. Gonna get better helmets when the throttles get turned up.

Here is my son in his riding gear. he is 37 inches tall very skinny. He wear Answer pants size 20, jersey XS, Gloves XS, Boots Answer PeeWee size 10, Answer PeeWee Deflector (Chest Protector), Answer PeeWee Knee Guards, and his Helmet is a Fly size Youth Small. His gear all fits him well. Hes a photo with all the gear on and a photo to show how the gear fits without all the protection.

With kids that age getting into riding, you really should start building a relationship with the parts counter at a local shop. You and the shop will be better off as your kid gets older. Go to some local shops and see what’s available to try on and then buy locally.

If it was in stock, less than 30 min away, and not full retail price, then sure.
I don't pay retail for anything if it can be avoided.
I can't find anyone to do my suspension or cranks correctly around here. Everything gets shipped in and out of my moto deadspot.

been scavenging ebay. Ones Favorite color is green and the others is blue. Found pants but no jerseys.
If they didn't grow so fast I would just buy new.
Might be supporting 4 kids riding. 2 on 50s now, one on a Minnie Mouse 6 volt atv, and the 4th in the oven. so trying to get as much fun for the money and time is important. A track at home will be a must "for the kids" with a little equipment to maintain it.
