My good friend of twenty plus years Paul Ikeda lost his fight with colon cancer Sunday night. Paul was a great father, great friend and will be sorely missed by all that were fortunate enough to know him. Paul leaves behind a daughter Sarah, 15 and his ex wife Shirley.
We had great battles racing in the late 80s and 90s plus Paul was one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. Paul could not have been more help when I decided to try and make a living in the MX industry four plus years ago. Paul brought over tools, a jig and a spare muffler for me to get my feet wet so I would at least have a clue when it came to repacking mufflers.
Just got off the phone with Green Hills. I learned there will not be a viewing or visitation but Paul will be interred at 2 PM tomorrow and there are no restrictions on friends attending. EDIT: Those attending should try to be there at 1:30pm. It will be a Buddhist service.
The location is Summit Lawn at Green Hills Memorial.

A few years back I had to meet Paul at the Honda R&D facility in Torrance to pick up some Honda product for the Mammoth MX event. Paul meets me in the lobby and proceeds to take me on a 30 minute quick tour of the place, it was very cool.
I'm proud to say Paul was my friend.
