Anyone else got friends they race that are your exact same speed? I've got two buddies and it always amazes me how we are so close every damn time we race. I battled my buddy Shane every lap of every Moto a couple weeks ago, soo damn fun. Nothing compares to the mental and physical challenges you face in a race, this was our last moto and I was soo beat already. Ass was raw, could barely control my hands, almost gave up like 5 times. I was literally forcing my self through shear determination to just hold it a little longer, finally got him right before the white flag!

Great race. You had to stay after it since he gapped you a bit in the beginning. Once you passed him I thought he was dropped but oh no... he stuck it in on you a couple times!!! Nice.

I've had a few friends, and other racers, similar to what you mention just not to the "every lap every moto" degree. Fun times for sure.

Is it wrong when those buddies crash and you laugh in your helmet?

That was fun! Thanks for letting me ride along with you. Great rut-riding skill set you have!

Even better that you were both on 2 strokes!

Buddy and I were battling it out one moto a few years back. We were so determined we blew right through the checkers and had a lap to ourselves, it was great lol.

Very nice. Good to have a buddy to race with like that.

What class are your guys riding there?

I don't know, but I do and one time it was a dual sport ride and my buddy's bike ended up in a creek on it's side. After composing myself from laughing, I had to grab the camera before we got it back up..

I love that stuff, when I went to B class in 05 I finally got to race my brother for the first time since we started in the early 80's.....being 7 years apart and taking time off at diffenant times we never got the chance. That made racing fun for sure.

Damn, you guys had a pretty good pace going it looked like! What camera setup is that, is it a hero 4 session mounted under the visor or something else?

How bitchen was that.

I haven't even read this thread or watched your footie - but I will in a sec.

You just described exactly what moto means!

I have a couple friends that are just about the same speed as I am. It's super fun when we get good starts and battle, there is nothing better than battling with someone you can trust. It's even more fun when you start bumping each other mid moto, good times!

Cool vid and story, thanks for sharing!

I have a couple buddy's very close in speed that do enduros and harescrambles with me, over the years as we all gained speed and moved up in classes a few of us have still stayed ridiculously close in speed. Had a couple times in 2 hr scrambles where we finished within a couple seconds of each other. Heck a couple years ago at millville myself and one friend went back and forth about 5 times and I never had the lead after any lap other than the last one! Always look back to days like that and smile!

Nothing better than I battle with your buds on race day or even during practice. Seriously so fun! I have 2 friends who are identical, the hard one of us push, we are push back!

Most the people that I ride with either way faster than me, or way slower. But I do have a buddy that is really close to the same speed as me...actually, I'm faster than him on fast wide open stuff, and he's faster than me in tight technical trails and in a bit better shape. Since most H&H's are fast...I'll gap him pretty good, and then he'll come rolling right up on me "tortoise and hare" style...Over a 100 mile race, more often that not, we'll finish within 30 seconds to a minute of each other.

Nice ride! Looks like they change it up quite a bit for local races as opposed to the national.

Very cool! I have a buddy that it doesn't matter where we line up on the gate. Within a lap or two we always seem to find each other and battle it out for the rest of the race.
That looked so fun. I need to start racing again.

Sure is. Both my sons are faster than me but I really enjoy riding/racing with them. Not much more a dad can ask for!! Well except I now have my grandson racing. There will coming a time when we will be racing each other competitively. Probably when he's on the 65's lol

I've posted the video before but my last race before my accident (as in hours before) was a bit of a battle with one of my best mates and with all my racing mates watching.. It was a strange deal where most of them had stopped racing but for whatever reason thought bugger it lets race this weekend so it was awesome.. until I had to go and ruin it all haha
I also won it so I went out winning.. I don't remind him of that fact much haha took him nice and high when I passed him too.. lucky it was out of sight of the officials or I would've been starting from the rear next race haha
