This the problem with these small countries like Italy - it's almost impossible to field 3 good riders, or now in this case, 2.

He is not making any comments about the guy's mother.
(Now that I think about it- I have no idea why we use this phrase to express shock or disappointment.)
Franklin Roosevelt talking about Nicaraguan dictator Anastasio Somoza in 1939 is the one who started the quote here in the USA....and i guess sorta got it popular.
Yeah exaclty, sfortuna, sfiga, iella, iattura.
Get well soon David!
They should definitely drop the age rule for the MXdN.
if ..... don't get u nowhere
it is odd since ther are a lot of world class teams based in italy and it has been a country full of tradition in racing.....but then again when federations care more about wich sponsors go in the team jerseys then the results the team could get.....its show how the sport is run there....
a lot of countries in europe have oficial youth teams to help develop their riders, others get support from their federation to race internationally, france is the biggest exemple how it should be done, looks like its time for italians to wake up and catch up.......
get well soon david...!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully Guaneri can step up, he hasn't been riding too bad this year and is good on hard pack. Gutted for Philippearts though, he gives it 110% at the nations and is great to watch, I will never forget his ride in 2009 in italy, and unlike many of the other riders isn't in awe of the Americans!
Sorry to hear about DP...one of the ones I have watched for years. Heal up quick!

Kevin Strijbos to fill in for Ramon on factory Suzuki, he still has the stuff to run at the front, and is now back with the team that took him to runner up in MX1 twice... and he loves Loket.
Suzuki's GP team will count on the services of former team rider Kevin Strijbos for the remaining four rounds of the FIM MX1 World Championship after the injury to Steve Ramon at Lommel last Saturday. Strijbos will make a timely return to the factory team on the RM-Z450 at Loket this weekend for the Grand Prix of Czech Republic and round 12 of 15 in the series. It was at the hard-pack and fast course in 2005 that Strijbos gave the works machine its very first overall GP victory. Strijbos has a long association with the team and also Suzuki (four years with GRP) and was the perfect candidate to help fill the awning next to Clement Desalle for the remaining GP events in Czech Republic, UK, Germany and Italy. With Ramon's blessing, Strijbos was able to test the bike Tuesday and will again represent the Belgian crew after twice finishing as World Championship runner-up while wearing its colors.
"This is a great opportunity for me," said Kevin. "I've had a few bad weekends this season and also some other problems and this is a fantastic chance to show that I can still produce the goods, so I want to thank the team for picking me. I went to the workshop in Lommel yesterday and everything was exactly like it was before. Nothing had changed and it was like coming home. I hope I can repay some of the faith this weekend."

I like his attitude. All the best to Kevin.
Get well soon,
I hope Cairoli stays healthy though, and don't screw up in the start so we can have a real battle for the sake of the bench racing!
and replacement Philippaerts could be Guarneri....
"Monster Energy Yamaha rider David Philippaerts is likely to miss the rest of the 2011 FIM Motocross World Championship after crashing during training yesterday (Wednesday) at a track in Germany in preparation for the Grand Prix of Czech Republic this weekend. The 2008 MX1-GP world champion has broken both wrists. The 27 year old Italian underwent surgery for several hours Wednesday evening.
The accident happened when the winner of this season’s Brazilian Grand Prix landed heavily from a double jump and suffered intense pain, with his hands feeling the brunt of the impact. More information about the surgery and expected recovery time will be issued shortly."
