How many of you have more then 1 dirt bike for different discipline? I ride 60% trail offroad and 40% track.
Anyone else tried the multi purpose bike or ride a enduro style bike on track too or if your bless to afford second bike would you? I ride and race at vet B amateur level now. Kind of missing the 4 stroke for track but still have fun on the 300..
Trail mode..
So I've had a 2014 KTM 300XC for 2 years now and love it! It excels best on trail riding and off road racing. What I did was got the stuff that plug and plays from KTM to make it street legal and got it plated. So I've been able to do long routes in the backcountry/ ride at night and also jump on a road to get gas if needed or go to towns for lunch here in Colorado and Utah.
Track mode..
Then when I'm ready to race off road or the motocross track:
- unplug the light and put the # plate back on
- pull off the tai llight and lisc. plate
- switch power valve spring from yellow medium to crazy red power spring

Always use this formula when deciding how many dirtbikes is enough. Where N is the number of bikes you already own.
N = N + 1
Most MX is BIG whoop sand, wide bars, stiff suspension and not much need for armor.
My stable included a YZ450F for moto and a 250XC for a woods weapon.
Nothing sucks worse than being on the wrong bike.
I have it geared way low which works perfect for everything except some of the longer straights at the GPs but that's minor. I put in stiffer fork and shock springs and dial back the compression damping for trail riding stuff. Frigging ruling all around bike.
Hell, I even let my nephew race it at Laughlin Best in the Desert earlier this year. They geared it up and just ran it. Worked awesome!!! (sorry for the crappy quality. Phone recording that was sent SMS so it got waaay compressed.)
