Oversized rotor and bracket question

I bought some oil forks from a 2012 CRF450 to put on my 2015 CRF450. The 2015 comes with a larger front brake disc and from what I can measure is 260mm. There are brackets made by various companies that will extend the distance of the brake cylinder to allow for an oversized brake on the oil forks but they say they are for a 270 mm brake disc. Will these brackets work for my application?

Definitely go with the correct size bracket. A bracket for a 270mm rotor will place your caliper 5mm too far outward and thus position the brake pads off the edge of the brake disc to some extent. You'll reduce your swept area and get poor wear patters on the pads.

Can you recommend one? I can only find 270 mm brackets..

Call up Galfer. I'm sure they have 260 brackets.

Not to mention when the brake pads meet and you have no brakes, seen it happen on a car haha

I have bolted up a 2008 crf Öhlins fork to a 15 and 16 crf 250, and currently to my 2006 cr 125.

Just buy a 270 bracket and disc. It's not gonna work any other way, have used the same disc and bracket for all bikes.

The updated braking force is just a huge advantage coming with it Cool

You might want to go with a 270mm rotor and a more common aftermarket bracket to fit the 2012 fork.
