I'm not thrilled about this if true. I love the outdoors and like watching the 250's but I am really there to watch the 450 class. I want to see the 450 outdoors "stacked" with talent.

^Exactly. Heck I’m even excited about hill on a 450 and we all know he hasn’t lit the world On fire outdoors. (I think Hill is 450 right)

Pretty sure Hill will be on a 250 outdoors. I may be wrong, though.

People wanted a dominant Herlings to move up to challenge the dominant Cairoli, when another challenger wasn’t imminent (Febvre and Gajser titles came during injury seasons and were not predicted by anyone not named Febvre/Gajser). So you had 2 riders dominating their classes making the racing for the win in both races predictable. Predictable=boring.

Currently in the AMA series, the 450 class has been interesting with Tomac/Musquin/Baggett/Anderson/Barcia/Roczen all a threat for race wins and the title, and the 250 class has been as unpredictable as always even with a past champions like Osborne and Martin in the class.

Adding Osborne to the mix of AMA 450 guys would add to the drama, but it isn’t at the level of wanting to see a prodigy race the past decades best GP motocross racer.
I agree with you. Osborne probably wouldn't make much impact on the 450 class. Herlings stood to be a one-man shockwave. Which he has been.

Hill will be on 250 outdoors and 450 2019 last I heard. But with how much he wants to be on a 450 and with his small success on the big bike indoors, I imagine he’s trying to get on a 450 outdoors. Would love it if it happened

The year husky wins 250/450 inside and out!!!! I never would have thought that remotely possible a few years back.

I’ve always felt like the ideal path for a pro would be starting off on the 250 in MX, then doing two full seasons of each on the 250. Then doing a 250 SX and 450 MX season, then go 450 full time. Overall you still do 3 SX and 3 MX seasons on the 250, but have transition time in MX first both turning pro and to the 450.

Matthes on racer x........

"First up is the 250 Class, and if you look at last year's title, Zach Osborne won it by almost a hundred points. That's crazy to me because it's such a deep field of riders. We expect Osborne to be back in it to defend his #1 plate (he was slated to move to 450s, but they probably threw a chunk of money at him to stay down), so he's got to be the favorite."

When does Dean's contract expire? I assume he'll be looking for a SX ride after this season, assuming ZO moves up.

One way to help fix this issue is to adjust the race winnings. Adjust it to where the last place rider on the 450 makes more than the 250 winner. Right now, if you aren’t on the 450 podium, you don’t get more in race winnings than the 250 winner. That is absolutely absurd on every single level.

I like Osborne but his starts are going to crush him in the 450s. Webb had not so good starts in the 250 class but would blow through the pack and win. I think if Osborne starts 5-10 in the 450s that’s where he’ll be.
