I mentioned that last week in the race thread.

Looks like Feld cut back on the expenses. Those little plastic plaques are a little ridiculous.

Lame for sure. But all the cool trophies will be outdoors anyway.

Cutting cost by leaving half dirt away and building arenacross tracks is worse.

Guys...Guys...Guys...Come on.

Tim Ferry uses a first place trophy to hold a door open in his shed...highly doubt these guys care about the trophies unless it's a "first podium" or "first win" or a championship.

Podium finishers have so many of these, most of them are in storage or get tossed. Look at it from this angle...these are way easier to put in storage. HAHA

We were laughing at the trophies as well. Looked like our local crappy SX series awards.

I won a way cooler trophy at a Saturday night MX vs ATV unleashed tournament at the local track back in the day.

Make one trophy...big giant heavy silver trophy.

Each race winner gets to hold it, take a photo with it and stake a legit claim for it.

But only one man will take it home at series end.

It goes to every race and is ceremoniously put on stage during opening ceremonies...white gloves and all.

Don't need a trophy for each race.

I'm just glad Feld is putting on the racing this year.

All the trophies I won back in the day ended up in a landfill at some point.

Trophies serve as a reminder, they are not the prize. My smallest trophy is my first one and it’s still my favorite little piece of blue plastic I own.

Maby that's why Eli hasn't been on the podium much, he's just not into the trophies.

Watching SX podiums last night and my wife says, "Hey the trophy (plaque) that you came home with today is nicer than theirs" And that's not saying much! LaughingLaughingLaughing

My buddies kid scored the best trophies at Orlando 2.

Pretty lame what the riders got.

This one will be up in the garage for a while. I expected something slightly nicer than a piece of cardboard for that $85 entry fee though.

How about "Earned a 5th place trophy"

I kept only the bottom marble from my first trophy

That was a rough day earning my first trophy, also a 5th place.

Solicit submissions for a fan-produced trophy competition in each city, with guidelines for size and a location for a standardized engraving plate. Have a straw vote (drop a ticket in the box next to your favorite) on media day determining a "podium" among submissions. Give the winner some sponsor shwag and a photo op on the podium with the winner of their trophy.

No major expense incurred, but better fan engagement and maybe cool (or at least unique) hand-crafted trophies.

Blue ribbons are next.😀🏁

Back in the day you could refuse the trophy and it would pay for next week's entry. Lotta guys did exactly that.

I could be wrong but, what Marvin's holding is what I was given when I raced Oakland Futures SX a couple years ago.(Granted mine was for a measly 5th place in the 35 plus and his is for the 450 premier classWoohoo )

Wondering since there's no futures/amateur days this year....they had an excess of trophies to get rid of ?

I think you’re right. A buddy of mine did a couple futures rounds, and said the same thing
