Primarily for a 2 stroke non power valve motor. would be mixed with 87 octane non-ethanol pump gas. Some reading so far states some boosters are not recommended for 2 strokes? So im asking vital what they use in their 2 strokers in this case.

Hard to quantify which one is the best but I've used the VP and Maxima ones with no issue.

Find out what Geico Honda is using and go with that. If you didn’t know, that’s the team that the LAWRENCE BROTHERS ride for....

VP's Octanium has worked in my old 1979 CR250. Tried it just for kicks and was VERY surprised. Used it with Pump 91 (15% Ethanol...yech!) & it worked really well.

Good Luck!

Boostane gets good reviews on the car side of things, so I started using it a few months ago. I have ethanol-free 87 down the road from me, so I throw some Boostane in to mix it up to 93, so I don’t have to deal with ethanol. It has worked fine so far on my ‘13 250XC w/SX head. I use the Professional. It takes .43oz per gallon to turn 87 into 93. It’s about $30 for 32oz.

Ask star what they were using up until the last race.

Go to your local paint shop or hardware store and grab a jug of toluene and a jug of xylene and save some $. Toluene is around 114 octane and xylene about 117. Used in equal portions is about 115.5 octane. 1:1 ratio with 87 pump fuel would give you about 101 octane.

The toluene/xylene combo is thought to work better than using one or the other.

Yes but not in a two-stroke. I always used pump/100LL or straight 100LL depending on the particular engine.

I always used Torco with my YZ250.
Most of the octane boosters really don’t do much. Torco actually works.
