Alright guys, im not trying to start no shit, or piss anyone off. im just looking for everyones opinion this this dude, an possilby inform me if im missing something. So obviously this dude was an arenacross champion for many years. I didnt even really follow the arenacross circuit but knew who the dude was. The first supercross race i ever seen the dude run was A1 When he took out a rider during a qualifying race. I understand pullin a dirty move or " Aggresive move" like that in a main event. But a qualifiyng race i think not. An then his interview on the podium the dude seemed like a total douch bag. Am i the only one thinking this???

Well you're about 2 weeks late but whatever. If you watch the slow-mo video it wasn't that hard of a hit, just the timing of it when Osbourne was just getting on the gas coming out of the corner made it look harder then it was. I like him, I like that kind of racing it's exciting and I loved his interview. The thing I like about him is that he races guys aggressively, but he expects it back and isn't going to whine about it like Barcia has done in the past. He leaves that stuff on the racetrack, you could see him and Osbourne talked it out on the Podium at A1. I see no problem.

Bowers is an aggressive racer. He comes from Arenacross which does not reward those who hesitate or are overly patient when it comes to making passes. He's been hired by a top level 250 team and is expected to win this west title. He obviously feels the need to set the tone and isn't shy about letting his competitors know what his intentions are. When you add all of that with the excitement of A1, I think he made a move on Zach that was perhaps a tad aggressive given the situation, but not dirty. I didn't see anything negative from PHX either. He seemed to battle cleanly with Hill in the heat.

Ok so most of you guys are saying how it is his first year at top level for a top supercross team an i cant agree with you more. I would be out to prove a point as well. I didnt think that far ahead. Yes motocross is an aggresive sport when your on that level, but theirs no need to be a dick head. In his inverview he said one of the reason he got Osbourne like that was because he felt Osbourne did an aggresive move to him earleir. Its what ever i think the dudes a douche

He's talented, focused, aggressive, and hates losing. Those are very good qualities for a motocross racer.

I was at A1 and from the stands the move on Osborne looked like a real overly agressive pass, especially for a heat race. But having watched it back he didn't actually make that much contact with him, Osborne sort of whiskey throttled off the track, it certainly wasn't a great deal worse than what Osborne did to him a couple of corners before. I like the guy, he's got a real nice style and I'm pumped he got a chance to have a decent crack at challenging for an SX title

He seriously didn't hit Osborne hard, it just looked worse because Zach popped the clutch at the point of contact so the bike got away...

AND... If you listended to DMXS and Pulp the last few weeks, Zach was spotted by both JT and Cooper Webb, who was right behind, and Zach admitted, he rubbed Tyler too hard for 3 corners before.

He's not crying. No one else should either.

Chalk me up as another guy who thinks he's awesome! BTW....he won Vegas the year before last....and he's been in SX before Go look waaayy back in 2008! he had a great year that year and plenty of rides in the top 10. He's also had a lot of really good national rides.

He didn't just come out of nowhere man. He's been around for quite some time. And I'm glad he he got a full ride at PC and is doing the full series. The dude deserves it!

Sweet, more Internet name calling.
We are going to eventually have riders that don't speak at all.

Good thing there was no social media when Hannah, RJ and Bradshaw were around.

Redundant thread much?

It looked like a hard pass on tv, until shown in slow motion. His interview was a breath of fresh air from the generic 'I can't thank.... the teams been working really hard...' The most out of line part of the debacle was the AMA official reacting before seeing replays of the entire sequence.

And OP, not to spoil it for you, but Tomac and Webb won in Phoenix.

No problem with his riding.

Not sure who has the most flat out speed in that group. Bowers is bigger and carrying more weight than the others but would seem to be right up there.

you can think think whatever you want, but why does his personality matter? Why can't we just appreciate them for their racing ability, and all the other things that make someone a top racer/athlete?

If you think he's a dirty rider, that's one thing, and maybe he is, but the general consensus is that he isn't, and his pass on Osborne was not as dirty as it may have seemed initially. I don't think he is a dirty rider, at most, I think he just rides overly aggressive. That can be irresponsible, yeah, but dirty riding, in my eyes, is to intentionally hurt someone or run them off the track. Thats entirely different.

I've always liked him, he's not a 130lb lawn dart like many 250 riders. Plus to the op, Bowers has been racing SX for several years now, not full time, but he's always been able to make a couple rounds with the exception of last year. He doesn't always ride like he did during the heat.

He will have a big #1 on his bike when the east/west shootout lines up in Las Vegas, that's what he was hired for.

i have feeling cooper webb and bowers are gonna tangle before this is over. cooper has speed and probably is the fastest guy on the track...but bowers can go the distance, carries speed well and can kinda make up time on people no matter how good they are in front him....doesn't make mistakes as much. No matter what cooper portrays as a tough guy, bowers is gonna move him outa the way if he can catch him. Hopefully this gets good as the series goes.

I like Tyler and His Dad , met them and hung out several times.

His pass on ZO was aggressive but it happens.

People cry why don't riders have any personality but when they do show some personality, they get crucified for speaking their mind.

The Gentleman in me follows Golf.

The other 99% follows SX/MX

I think its great that he came to race but he is a rookie to SX. But I did like that what he said as I quote " I race for a team that is not looking for anything less then top 5 or being on the box every weekend, But I came to win"
