What are you Canadian guys using to order parts? Fortnine is great, prices are decent and shipping is super fast but they don’t always have what I’m looking for, and it’s nearly double the cost to order off of the big American sites after dollar exchange and shipping.

I only know of and use Fortnine or Royal Distributing. Royal’s website pisses me off however.

Unless I get a smoking deal online, I'm mostly getting parts from my local dealer. For items that the local dealer won't get (e.g. suppose I want to buy a Cylinder Works big bore kit), if Fortnine doesn't have it then we're pretty much screwed as far as getting it cheap, as far as I can tell. Sometimes you can find good deals on eBay, but there again, there's usually exchange and shipping. Unless our dollar goes up, that's unavoidable. If someone else knows of other options I'd also be glad to hear them!

I should mention www.gnarlyparts.ca/. I've ordered WPS batteries from them - good prices.

I've found http://www.gnarlyparts.ca/ to be good if I can't find what i'm looking for on fortnine. These guys are really good for tools, and if you are into Tusk brand parts. If you can't find what you're looking for online, give them a call and they will likely have it/

Ya I've been meaning to email Steve at the Pulp Show to help get something going for his fellow Canadians. I keep hearing these amazing coupon codes for all these retailers but by the time the shipping and conversions get tacked on, even with the discount its cheaper to buy from Royal, GP bikes or Fortnine.

If he could get FortNine or somehow Gauldy nd Royal get a code going that would be amazing. Super jealous of these deals the Americans get for sure!!

If you can get to Blackfoot they have some pretty good deals going on for Friday & Saturday. If you can't, you can still get 15% OFF online at BlackfootDirect.com

I always bought parts, accessories, etc. directly from our dealer. Takes a while to build a good business relationship but it paid off in the end. Always had good discounts.

Personally I would suggest you go that route but if you can't there's different places where you can order stuff up here.

I mainly order all my parts for my 17 450 through my local dealer as they can usually get parts relitivly quick if they don’t have them in stock already. I have an older 125 which they never have parts in stock and are usually on back order from their suppliers, so I tend to go the online route for parts for that bike. And I’d have to agree with ramrod I’m not a fan of using royal distributing simply because of they’re website set up.

|

11/21/2018 11:02 AM

And also, does anyone know where to find the best deals on works connection parts in Canada? They seem to be the price of gold, and not available on many sites.

Royal Distributing is doing something right since they have multiple retail locations. That said it really wouldn't hurt them to invest in their website.

That thing needs a major overhaul. I'm sure a lot of buyers click that thing, look at it for a moment then say to themselves, fuck it, I'm buying from somewhere else.

Not the cleanest site to navigate. You can always give them a call but then it only takes 1 number to be misheard and your order is screwed up. Online shopping is convenient and I think they're missing the mark with their website. I think I've only ordered from their site once or twice.

Just a heads up for any Canadians looking to do some online shopping, most probably know but Canada Post is on strike and I believe I read that the Toronto sorting facility is backed up with 600+ trailers full of mail. Even if the government legislates them back to work they willl probably be backed up until after the new year so if possible avoid shipping anything through Canada Post.

Yeah it's pretty crazy, hopefully they can come to a deal soon but I don't think it will matter for anyone looking to do some Holiday shopping. I believe today the government warned them that they are "prepared" to legislate them back to work but that doesn't mean a whole lot I don't think.

If you live anywhere near the border use a cross border P.O. Box ( Kinek or others). Place your order in the states and then go pick it up. Your allowed up to $800 cad if your in the states for 48 hours duty free. Take the wife and make it $1600. It’s like getting two birds stonned at once. Wife gets a trip and you get sweet deals.

If you're looking for graphics LimeNine will have a deal and M7 Designs currently has a deal for 20% OFF their website.

Rocky Mountain makes it easy enough to ship across the border.

Catch is not choosing the automatic shipping option. Select the faster option and for some reason when brokerage fees are considered it works out cheaper and it gets their fast.

Of course support the local dealer and all that, most importantly support the dealer and manufacturer that supports your local track.

These guys won’t sell bikes if there’s nowhere to ride them.

I’m addicted to RMATV, what a website. I live an hour from the border so I go for a drive once in a while.

Not a dealer in town anyway.

Where do you drive to? Likely Houlton? But - do you have a P.O. box on the other side? Or get things shipped to a friend? Or?

There is a store right across the border here that allows you to ship it to them. They charge you $3.00 a package to do so. It is so popular they opened up a massive garage/building to hold everything. They even have a forklift now!

That website is a mess... I really don't understand how they haven't built a regular online store yet. That catalog is ridiculous and a pain in the ass. I never bought from them and I wish I could because they've supported the pro series for so long.

I dont understand how a place like Royal Distributing has such an outdated website. It is so bad its not I cant be bothered to use it.

I like RMATV and have used it a bunch of times. Its very easy to order and no additional funds get added. They have a great selection and you can actually get some things cheaper especially with their blow outs.

|

11/22/2018 12:35 PM

While I visit my local dealer often and try them before heading online, I did just find out that they also order from Rmatv for some of their inventory, how much I don’t know, but if that’s the case, kinda sucks if they have that big of a grip on the industry.

I have a mailbox, Houlton area. Great, especially when the exchange was closer. Still worth it for RM and Amazon.com. The guy that owns Amazon needs to sponsor a team, $155,000,000,000, blow some.
Royal Distributing, I stopped in on the way to the TO SX one year. Impressive retail store, but catalogs and a shit web-site is old school business. Hey, it’s their business. I don’t have a local dealer, but they usually don’t have much in stock so they order...just like I do.

Question about KTM OEM parts. I have noticed there is a big price difference between US and Cdn prices.

I have checked the common US sources but they wont ship to Canada.

Anyone know any smaller shops that do?

Yeah. It appears that everyone is charging the same amount in Canada. ie.. Break pads as an example are a little over double in Canada iirc.

Good deal. Would be nice sometimes if I was closer, I'm 4 hours from either Calais or Houlton.

I drove by RD on the way from Pearson to Barrie last month - but meh, didn't take the time to stop. And we had other things on the go....
