Does anyone else think parts of the track look a little narrow for a national?

Yeah, especially at 2:21.

To me, Hangtown always looked like garbage to me, but as Jimmy was saying, it looks like the dirt is mixing in well.

GoPro.

I think most helmet cam vids make the track look narrower than they really are.

I don't think it's so much that hangtown is narrow, but that GH is so WIDE! I'm super stoked on that new step up in the back, I really hope they keep that after the national is over, I would love to hit that thing!

It looked narrow to me also. That new step up section looks super fun though!

I really wish they would run it in the opposite direction again.........it's like a new track when they do. But it seems like a lot of work, maybe it doesn't pan out dollar wise?

For the last decade it has been too narrow in too many places IMO and could stand being wider. It originally was incredibly wide when they first went there from Plymouth, and that enhanced racing. But it was the native hard pan then, and perhaps it's harder to amend the soil over as much area, and they have done a great job of making the soil condition better than it otherwise would be (at this time of year anyway).

Bummed to be missing my first one since 97.

It is in certain sections GH is really wide, but after the big step up at GH it gets narrow until the finish line. It was all one lined there and I think its hard to get every track super wide.

They did have two parts sectioned off at HT so that might be some of it but it has always been a narrower track.

Why do all the tracks keep bringing in foreign dirt? Why not let some tracks be hard packed, some be sandy, some be loamy....why do all the tracks on the national circuit have to be loam?

It's a national series...shouldn't the tracks be a representation of the different types of dirt across the nation?

I don't know if this is baseless or not, but I have always thought that hard packed tracks are more dangerous. I feel this way because they are typically smoother (faster), slicker, and concrete-like.

Hard pack can't take on much water, so dust becomes a pain in everyone's ass in a real hurry.

Good job on that track lap. Jimmy is getting really good behind the camera and he really did a good job talking about his lap.
