Old school or new school KX125

Ive got a 2003 KX125, and need help deciding on the way to style the bike. Ive decided upon 2 options:

Old school: 2003 Chevy/PC graphics with PC works pipe and a few other little goodies, mainly a 03 JS259 "replica" with a few personal twists (numbers, bars/bar bend, different hand guards, no works forks, triple clamps, etc.)

New school: Black shrouds, rear # plates and rear fender with green 13 front end, 14 PC graphics, PC Works Pipe, blue hoses, black rims & blue hubs, sunline levers, etc (obviously more expensive. Sort of like this bike but a few different parts. Pic is just for a rough idea.)

Here my bike as it sits ATM.

Im leaning more towards the JS "replica", looks cleaner, just hard to find the graphics for under $275-$300 CAN shipped. Opinions are appreciated!

My daughters 2 05 Kx 125's as they sit right now. New style looks. First one has 08 450f shrouds, 13 front end parts & white rear fender from England. Second one is 11 front plastic, all the rest is stock. MGX Unlimited graphics on both.

I was looking at a white rear fender, only one i can find is $30 plus s&h from the UK. And it doesnt say the shipping costs on the ebay listing so I think I'm going to contact them, if its not outrageous I may buy one.

I always liked this bike. The monster thing was played out 7 years ago.

I would reconsider the decision of not to going with the works forks, triple clamps ect. lol Personally, I like the look of Jame's bike but I'm not into replicas. Didn't Jame's bike have a different color of flow green plastic. I don't know if you can buy that or not, but that would be a cool place to start.

I like the monster graphics on the 92 bike, but I would get it as close to RVs Bike as you could get. I'm undecided on switching out the front fender for a newer one. The new one's almost look too chunky for the two strokes.

I'd be interested to hear if and where you can find the Chevy Truck graphics kit. Have an 03 in my garage now with those grpahics and they need to be replaced.

I was going to go with that but I cant find the graphics ANYWHERE. Only asked Bryar (180 decals) if they could make them and he said they dont do replicas, so I'm gonna have to ask some other guys. If you know anywhere that sells them, let me know! lol

Yeah, I liked his 2012 graphics, cant find them anywhere for the smokers though Sad I found the company that makes the 2014 factory graphics from an ad on here, $139 for the kit but theyre out of stock. I think I may have decided, once theyre in stock Wink

EDIT: I neglected to check if they made them for the 2 smokes and they dont Sad

I think the new front fender looks good, if you dont use a cycra stadium plate.

Im not sure, I just know the 03 plastics were a more dull/olive green and the 04+ were supposed to be super bright green Tongue

Unless I can find a source for the 03 Chevy Trucks/PC graphics (Mike Brown bike above) or a cheaper source for the JS259 graphics, these are my choices that I've narrowed down:

1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NSTYLE-MONSTER-PRO-CIRCUIT-KX-125-KX-250-KAWASA…

Contacted him earlier and he said if I included it in the comments when I order them he'd send me an extra 13 front # plate and fender tip graphics for free. Last night I mocked up what I could on a stock photo of a KX LaughingCool

2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2009-KAWASAKI-KX-125-250-Dirt-Bike-Graphic…

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2009-KAWASAKI-KX-125-250-Dirt-Bike-Graphic…

3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Style-Ultra-Complete-Graphics-Kit-White-Kawas…

4. http://store.n-style.com/2014-Monster-Energy-Kawasaki-Team-Green-Team-G…

Only thing about these ones is with appropriate backgrounds for my class theyre $300 something shipped... I guess that can wait! haha

Put black rims on her, makes it look a lot better IMO. And black plastics is also the way to go.
Make her mean!

Easy, bubba replica. Any good graphics company can make you those exact graphics for a normal price.

Don't you dare put a Monster logo on that bike.

Haha I'm tempted, just to give it the "factory look" Wink Plus I've got a One Ind. Monster helmet I won a few months ago, so atleast I'd somewhat match ;p. Im not one of the "bros", or atleast I dont think I am anyways. I dont load up on Monster every chance I get like its water, wear my flat brimmed Kawi hat forwards, respect my bike, take it seriously, know what I'm talking about for the most part when I talk about bikes, so its not like I'm gonna run them because, "Dude, its fucking Monster bro. Cmon." Mostly because I can get the team graphics cheap Tongue I dont want to break the bank with this bike, I'm attempting to save for a S10 or something because i just got a job, but having a stock bike sitting there and having money in your pocket isnt a good combination :p

If I do, itll be a Tuck wheelset for $500, comes with both front and rear wheels pre assembled. I would have mine powder coated or plasti dip them because its eaiser, but mine are so scratched and dinged from all the previous owners it'd look like shit. $500 for the Tusk set plus s&h, and for an excel set its like $800 I think. Wont happen for a while though, but I will have a set of black rims before the bike is sold for something bigger, if I ever sell it ;p

I did a 94 KX 250 last year and decided to go modern. Of course any period replica would have been covered in purple, and that would have been a non-starter.

If you are going to actually ride the bike, I'd say go for the modernization. It'll be a cool conversation starter with people trying to figure out what the heck you are riding, plus chances are slim you could get all of the unobtanium to make a real replica anyway!

Someone on here made a Ward-replica bike with the old 80´s look on a 450. I.e. simple with the blue "KX 450" decals.
That look would be awesome to see on a two stroke with maybe blue hubs and a blue seat etc to make it stand out a little

I wasnt so much aiming for "real replica", more "replica graphics & same pipe setup" so it would look the same, I'd definitley have different triple clamps, clutch, clutch & ignition cover, etc. Just make it look somewhat the same, I dont have the money for an all out replica. Yet Wink

Anyone know where I can get the 03 Chevy Pro Circuit, Mike Brown style graphics at?

I did a 96 CR with basically the same approach, went for the MC look but no works goodies. Builds are a lot of fun, which ever direction you choose!

No contest for me, the Stewy replica for sure.

Monster graphics are a dime a dozen!

Go for the best of both - AC bike w/ JS graphics.

I say go with a period-correct style or replica. Start with a set of proper flo green plastics.
