Doing some rearranging in the basement and I got all the moto mags in one spot finally . The collection fills all these containers / file cabinet. Mostly MXA and Dirt Bike but also a lot of Racerx , Dirt Rider , Motocross ,Motocross Journal etc. from the 80s till a few years ago when I stopped getting print mags. Next is to organize them by publication and chronology lol. Let's see some other collections.

I am rebuilding my gun room and adding a moto room so mine are all in transition in boxes and on shelf's. Hundreds of moto magazines from the early 70s to now and same with posters and all sorts of other moto stuff. I have sold about half and still have more than I know what to do with. here of some of the pics of the mess but the rooms should be done in a few weeks and then I can start organizing again.

Fortunately all my moto mags, moto memorabilia, helmets and gear were all upstairs when it flooded. All boxed up and in a closet. Hundreds of posters and rider handouts since the late 70’s. Every issue of Racer X is in there as well.

Unfortunately a bunch of gun magazines and ammo were in the garage under two feet of water! I will say that everything that was packed away in metal ammo cans stayed dry through it all! Funny thing about the gun mags that flooded, I bought about 100 of them from a vendor that flooded, cleaned and lubed them all and packed them into cardboard boxes where they got flooded again.

Gun room? Just got my safe back after 14 months! Thought the company that was rebuilding it had lost it.

I always enjoy seeing the cool bikes you post(even if I know zero about a lot of them), but seeing that rack with all the cans....I can only begin to imagine what kind of treasures you have Woohoo

Moving every few years throughout my life- I just got sick of carrying boxes of mags around. Gave a bunch away to the neighborhood kids and tossed the rest. Like F150 said, I thought I was the only weirdo that loved old mx mags.

Most are in storage, MXA from November 1981 to present. Some are autographed, framed and hung on the wall of the spare bedroom. I have a few others stashed around too...Racer X, Dirt Bike....etc.

Got every issue of MXA from 1975 to 1999. After that there is nothing worth keeping.

I am a sucker for '90s moto mags if anyone wants to part with theirs. I think a lot of us have an attachment to our formative years in the sport.

True stuff here. In the current MXA's, feel like I'm reading recycled articles of the last 18 years.
Just moved and ended up trashing mags from around 00 to current. Even though i was not interested in them, it was still hard to let them go. Hung on to old Cheri and Genesis mags from early 80'sCoolCool

I think I've got almost every issue of Racerx until March 2010 which was no mean feat over here! You had to scour all the local News agencies as none of them would consistently stock them, plus they were at least $10 a mag back then.. Like others have said my collection makes me feel a lot less fanatical about it haha

Man you could have mine but it probably wouldn't be worth it for you with all the freight haha
But I dunno what to do with them cause I don't particularly need them but I don't just wanna throw em out either

Hey do you have any 1998 MXA shootout issues? Or any issues highlighting the 98 yz250?

The 98 YZ250 was sloooow but MXA had the low down on putting a 94 cylinder and flywheel on the 98 and that was McGraths SX set up. I did it and it was a rocket. Cool

Ahh I needed an excuse to go through my stuff since i’m moving soon anyways... Who remembers some of this nolstagia? MXrider was an amateur magazine that had all the good stuff back in the day. They also had a pretty kick ass video section on their website too where they would post 30 second to 1 min clips of the fastest riders. Which was pretty badass back in the early 2000’s for guys like me that wanted to keep up with the amateur nationals but just couldn’t do it in person. The hype around the riders coming up in the late 90’s early 2000s was big with riders like Stewart, Alessi, Laninovich, Millsaps, Collier, etc.. coming up.

Here’s one of my 4 bins full of old mags. I was actually thinking about getting rid of some of them but I think I would feel bad if I did haha.
