He's back on the bike. Just sayin'...

KTM is loading their paddock, maybe Kawi should do the same.

The Kawasaki team in MXGP is privately owned...albeit, Febvre is contracted to Kawasaki directly. They need him back as they're only operating with Ben Watson at the moment.

Kawasaki in the US will likely have someone on AC's bike all summer (Anstie is most likely), so they'll have two bikes out there.

I don't know. I heard Anstie isn't likely to get that ride and it's probably going to Savatgy.

Of course, the information came from Savatgy's dad and I read it on Vital MX so take that for what its worth, lol

Just stirring the pot, MichaelSmile

To be fair, Herlings is also contracted to race the GPs, but KTM brass seemed open to the idea of him racing here. Even though Febvre is contracted privately, the right twists from Kawasaki and Monster could probably get him pointed toward North America.

The opposite happened with Villopoto (from US to GP), but he was also basically already retired at that point.

Little different situation though. KTM was looking a the possibility of winning zero championships in the premier class world wide for MX/SX, so the chance for Jeffrey to come over and get them in the fight was uplifting. Especially as Jeffrey was the one pushing for it to happen and Red Bull.

KTM in the GPs does have Vialle battling for the championship in MX2, so at least their team has something to focus on. So losing Herlings to US for a year isn't the end of the world. They also own both the US and MXGP teams.

On the Kawi front, they'll have a full team for outdoors in the US and they need Febvre to help push this need privage MXGP effort forward. They can't leave it with just Watson for the year with his struggles. Monster also doesn't sponsor that Kawi team so they don't have the leverage there. Lastly, Monster needs Febvre in MXGP as they have very little coverage in the MXGP field at the moment.

Whole MXGP Kawasaki team is build around Febvre who can win races. He been out and their second rider been 15-25 places so practically whole team not been there. If there was anyone that level they will hire fill in not let their top star to go US.
Contrast to KTM, Husky, Gasgas they have plenty of riders still in for MXGP.

Most of the time this year there has only been about 22 bikes on the gate too, so it’s not been a good year for Watson.

Febvre is good, but in a four man Frenchmen race with Ferrandis, Marvin and Renaux, he'd finish fourth more often than any of the others.................

Sounds reasonable…..if by fourth you mean first.
