The best 450 race in a while. Up to 4-wide battle, Reedy, Short, The Dung and BT wide open all the way, passes and passes back. Really bummed for BT and Reedy in that corner in the last lap.
I wish this would have been live on CBS, it would have been great PR for our sport.

Yes, those fuckin assholes at NBC certainly knocked it out of the park, DIDN'T THEY?! Babar the fucking elephant! Give me a break. But oh yes, they certainly made sure track and field made the program.

Big thumbs up to the Red Bud track crew and owners on prepping a great track with good soil, multiple lines and cool obstacles (and for letting it get rough as hell).

That WAS an awesome moto! I was there and Townley was pushing hard. If he was passed he fought back which was great to see.

Dungey wasn't lucky my friend, he was there and was pushing Townley hard.

Ya, too bad that wasn't the moto that was on NBC.

35 minutes of a 3-4 way battle up front, can't get better than that. Too bad it was not on TV, it was AMAZING. You cannot say Dungey got "lucky". Townley was being pushed, he screwed up, plain and simple.

And Reed was faster than both of them. Reed was going to win that moto if BT didn't fall down in front of him!!!

I don't know about that. He kept making little mistakes and would fall back then catch up because of the battle up front.

Hold on, more sarcasm right?

Maybe you thought wrong. I was going for Reed but I don't think he could have pulled that out and then he had nothing for Dungey in the second moto.

He was going fast and I was hoping he could 1-1. Great ride by Reed and something to build on considering his last few races.

We will never know now will we!

I am obviously a Reed fan, but I must admit that I was impressed with Dungey in that 1st moto. For somebody that has such a big lead in the title chase, he sure didn't worry about that fact and just backing off and protecting the points lead. To hang it out like that with BT and Reed was incredible to watch. How damn unreal are those guys!!!

Townley rode like he has the confidence back, in his head he knew he should win. Fighting back, pass after pass, side by side, he still never once doubted that he belonged at the front.
Great to see Reed get his game back, and Dungey is the poster child of a champion.

But of all the "winners" this weekend I think Townley will gain the most (confidence) and be a consistent race winner the rest of the series. After a couple years on the sidelines, what a great comeback.

My heart rate was peaking out at about 265 beats per minute during the closing laps of moto 1.

I too was looking for him to pass both in one shot. Helluva race!

I didn't think that Reedy could get by BT in that last lap, but he was faster than RD on the other side of the track (whoops/Leap side) and I was for sure convinced he was going to get RD in that last part of that last lap. But it's MX and anything can happen.

I don't think anyone is calling Dungey lucky because Townley went down.......more so because when Townley crashed he took Reed with him and left Dungey all alone.

It was more random luck for Dungey that had nothing to do with training or preparation.
