Eli Tomac, Aaron Plessinger, and Justin Barcia are this year's team. Anyone surprised?

Oh of course Tomac is going now that it’s on home soil.

Mousquin on a 250 would be boss since he's a little guy.

Imagine the uproar if he wasn’t picked in the same way that MM wasn’t picked.

If he's healthy and he doesn't go next year, that will be the weakest move ever by a top motocross rider.

Send our "B" team to represent PR and then have USA go #1 with PR ending up in second overall

Pressure is on, but a formidable team. I think the rest of the world has their work cut out for them.

You guys are crazy ... Why did you take Tomac ?

I am French so I thought the goal was to compete with the B team like the US does every year Smile

Otherwise we would have selected Musquin BlinkBlinkBlinkWink

cooper would be a great backup rider. hes shown he can get it done for at least one moto and his starts are generally on point

Especially after his comments today about how special it is and how it's the top race of the year.

He really said that? Wow what a fucking cop out. So important that he voluntarily skipped the last two years.

This is the first time Team USA has sent their best team, for one reason or another, since 2011. Maybe you could argue Anderson over Barcia but at Red Bud I’d say it’s at least too close to definitively say.

12-14: No Villopoto
15-16: Dungey, Tomac
17: Tomac, Anderson, etc.

Of course other countries have had the same problem at times. But this thread is about Team USA, so that’s all I’m mentioning here.

How many euro riders race a full sx season a full outdoor season 2 rounds of a different series and a mec. And race mxon? None

If you add up their total race hours and their total travel, I’d guess it’s either even or the GP guys have the edge. Plus what’s one more race at that point? Especially if he claims it’s the most important race of the year. Dumb statement by him given his history.

Just checking, were still shitting on Tomac for sitting out to focus on his championships and contract obligations after racing a few times, right?

Still irks me hes sat out the mxon, and I woulda rather seen Anderson take this spot. But whatever, I dont live in his shoes. I'd be ecstatic just to line up on the gate with the guys he does. I'll cheer for him all the same
