Jeezus...this thread sure took a turn...all because some nobody who had a Team Green dealer support ride back in the day isn't happy about how KIDS are thanking their sponsors....

Is there any racing happening today or we just wanna keep shitting on kids we don't know for stuff that doesn't change our lives one bit?

I just noticed that plus 45 is the first Moto of the day tomorrow. I hope that doesn't mean what I think it means. Probably no coverage of the race. Damn it

I think they should have 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 80+, 90+ ect. They should have so many classes, every old guy no matter his age can relive his youth. I also think they should make LL's a full month long while we're at it lol. Then, only the select few, who don't have to go to school or work can attend lol. To be honest, LL's is a bit much. I have no issue with Vet classes, I'm a vet rider myself. However, LL's has so many classes, it's silly. Not many parents can take two weeks off from work and who the hell want's to take their kids out of school for two weeks. I get that most kids are homeschooled but not all the kids are. It's a shame they can't have a race that is a bit more kid focused. They should have 3-4 days for just Vets no kids. Again, I get the big picture (mostly about money) but some of these classes are a little silly. 50 shaft drive and vet classes shouldn't be at this even. Again, I'm looking at it from a dad's point of view and who has a kid that races. Not sure what a 3-4 year old kid on a shaft driven PW 50 is going to learn at LL's lol. I'm sure the thousands of dollars his parents just blew, will teach their kids more about money management than riding lol. Again, I love Vet classes and they are exciting. Just my thoughts.

I may be old school but 20 years ago I made sure to remember every sponsor that helped me get to the podium. Even if I had to look down at my bike or my jersey, helmet, sleeves, etc. I took it very serious to mention everyone. Even if it's self serving, you make yourself look better by remembering everyone that helped you get there. Once you hit teen years and get to the 85's/supermini and above, you're getting a LOT of help. I was just surprised it seems to happen constantly on the podium at LL's. Maybe I'm out of touch because we used to race nearly every weekend and now it seems they race 4-5 times a year so we were more trained on it. Even local events that meant nothing, the top 3 always went out of their way to mention or promote sponsors.
All of these kids, amateurs, pros etc. all have social media. That is where EVERYTHING is going. We see all of these kids post promotional shit for their sponsors every single day, which I would argue is way more visible than any podium speech. If I see Haiden Deegan post videos and photos every day in his Monster helmet, tagging KTM and Thor and Method and all of these companies all over my social media feed, thanking them for their support, why do I have to hear it again on the podium?? When it comes to a post-race interview... call me crazy but dammit I don't want to hear a single thing about how his Dunlop's hooked up well. I want to hear opinions on lines changing and battling with other racers and how he was reacting to it in the heat of the battle. These companies no longer need the thank you on the podium speech.

I thought they had 55+ in the 90,s. I guess I,m wrong. The top 10 in 50+ are ripping yet. Why make it the last vet class. I guess I,m the only one that thinks 55+ class would be cool. No ones laughing about the shape McGrath or anyone else is in. McGrath could probably complete a SX race as far as conditioning goes. But he couldn’t qualify for a SX race right now. That’s why people are laughing at what you said.

Actually, not entirely true. Maybe on the east coast the kids are still on break. Here on the west, some schools are three weeks in. My son is in his first week.
