To put things into prospective, some of the Mini Sr kids are running times as fast as some of the 250B kids!

He won 125 c the top 4 had a huge lead on 5th. Maybe 3 hrs later he raced the same yz125 . And wins 250 c also. 250 c 2nd place was on a yz250.

Look out, Honda is going to pull support if they keep letting 2 strokes compete against their foopers

Intermission next. Then Master 50 + the intensity is building in the paddock. Emig pauses and looks over the horizon and says . Yeah I am the fastest tc150 rider in the world, so get ready. Let Go Boys

Do you think the new / newish / updated Kawi and Yamaha offerings will have any impact next year or are they still not on par with the orange minis?

As much as I like the Austrian bikes, it is slightly disheartening when you see gates full of them, but then again it's a no brainer when it's the weapon of choice and I totally get it, same as the Cobras in classes below it.

Can remember the Holeshot clip of practically (or entirely) all yellow from end to end from the very early LL days.
I just think KTM/GasGas?Husq just care about mini racing more...they understand that it translates to future sales...I rode yamahas my whole life until recently because that's...

The yamaha 65 has come a long way but it still can't hang with the Austrian bikes. My kids ride KTM's and they are a significant step ahead of any other 65/85.

Honda has never cared about mini bikes, Suzuki doesn't have an identity anymore and kawasaki has no excuse, they've had PLENTY Of success at the amateur level.

idk, it's mind boggling to me.

I think you're spot on. The Blu Crew and Kawi have a good presence at the tracks. However, the KX or YZ can't really touch an Austrian bike. The new YZ 85 is a good bike, overall better than a KX. That being said, the KTM/HSQ/GASGAS are way ahead. Who knows what will happen next year. Our race season starts in October, we will see how many other brands we see. I think the main factor is, KTM put forth a lot of money into their mini racing program. They are smart. Get them while they are young and they will ride your brand what they grow up.
Everyone around here sold their kx's and yz's so they could buy Orange/Red/White and suddenly they keep up with the leaders around here. It's a bizarre thing to see that even at the stock level.

I'm still just shocked how many ktm's are in the lineup at LL

I had to actually do some work for a bit. Anyone catch what happened to Willoughby in that moto? I saw he was up to third there for a minute.

Yea, bummer for Ferry. Gotta wonder if arm pump got him. Kid looked a little shaky those last few laps.

If you have been around them recently, I mean really around them like I am, it's no surprise. I do see a lot of KX's and YZ's but they usually at the back of the pack. Of course, the rider makes all the difference but having a good bike/rider combo is key! My son's 85 is no joke! Power to weight ratio is king. Hell, 125's/250's have to be on their game in order to pass a skilled rider on an 85.
