I live in Texas but am heading to Glen Helen for the vet nationals. I’ve noticed on line the asking price at dealers is quite a bit cheaper than here in Texas. I assume that they will add on loads of fees to bring it to the same price, but was curious what you guys were paying out the door in NM AZ and CA. Thanks.

Wow, that is crazy cheap in comparison to what I'm getting here. I think Texas dealers need a drug test haha

Halls in Ocean Springs is advertising '18 YZ250F's for $7299 plus fees. So I called them Tuesday to see which ones they had in stock, white or blue. Guy told me they had both, for $7999 plus fees.... I asked why it was $700 over their Cycle Trader ad, didnt have an answer. But Halls in Daphne gave me the CT price. Guess where im going for a bike...

there was a 16 kx450 at a dealer in san diego that was 6500 otd. almost bought it. I don't think they are much different from the 17s.

Don't mis my 350 with ohlins/pipe/ignition/ and everything else one bit! Yes it's that good. sending my suspension out this week and got a wificom tuner. That's all I need in life. Best new bike I've had in a long time.

Power for days. Digging fukin trenches all over the place. Hooked up like I was on a sticky trap. Hid its weight like it was a magic trick. Factory Connection revalve for a 250 pound rider and still felt plush. Ruined my 350.

I'd shop prices in AZ also.

In guessing you could find a '17 KXF for a smokin' good deal. Honda's don't seem to have any real incentives...yet.

If you buy in Cali, you many have a hard time finding a dealer that knows how to sell you the bike WITHOUT "Tax & Title"...which will cost you $600-800 (or more) based on the prices you're looking at. Technically, you need to take delivery of it OUT OF STATE -or- you can have a shipping company pick it up w/ a document that says it's leaving the state:

Oregon has NO SALES TAX. AZ, I believe, can sell you a bike as a "non-resident" hand you the manufacturers MSO & let you handle all the title issues when you get back to Tejas. I believe NM will do the same.

Like I said, California is a legal nightmare for a dealer and most either don't know how...or...will not process the sale without full DMV/State doc's. They're probably smart if they don't try to skip out on the state...Cali wants it's Chips!

Good Luck!

That totally hooked up feel front and rear is what I was missing from my 350. Good bike just not great.
I tried to go buy a new suzuki 450 actually but the dealer I was trying to deal with never gave me an out the door price. I ended up walking out of the dealership after waiting an hour for a price. I wasn't even asking for a deal!! Just a price. They never called me back either. Guess they make to much money.
I called the Honda dealer while I was in the Suzuki parking lot! They hooked me up without one hassle. Asked for an out the door price and got an answer in 10 minutes. This is a great bike !

I notice Kawsakis and Suzukis are pretty easy to get cheap deals on in my area. I guess they don't sell too well... Meanwhile if you go orange/white, red, or blue the dealers around me have zero interest in hooking people up on a bike if it's the latest model year out. You either pay msrp+fees+tax or they will happily let you walk out. I guess they have no issue moving those bikes so there's no incentive for them to work with those who are trying to get the best deal. Took some serious haggling and walking out and coming back a couple times just to get a few hundred bucks off my 2018 yz250f. If it's a left over 2017 and the 2018s are already in the showroom then they are often willing to work a pretty good deal. But on the new arrivals forget it... You either bend over and take it or you leave empty handed. That's just been my experience with a few dealers around me.

Mind sharing your OTD on the YZF and dealer?
I do find FL dealers not interested at all in any little financial gesture or just to throw a couple of supplies for first oil change i.e
And good luck to get a price if you don't show up and get into the sales/manager 2 hours drama.
Got my last two Husqy out of state. 10 mins to get OTD over the phone then confirmed by e-mail

With a 7699 MSRP, dealer fee, set up fee, freight fee, registration, and sales tax the first out the door price they gave me was $9800.... After walking out twice and spending several hours on the phone and in the showroom, I managed to get a down to a final price of $9000..... which is still a bit of a rip off, but they are lucky that I really really really wanted the bike. MSRP plus tax and registration would have been around $8300 which is what I had initially told myself was the most I wanted to pay when I first started shopping around, but I quickly realized the dealers around me weren't going to have it.

I kinda wish I had purchased out of state. But I'm in love with the bike so not really feeling any buyers remorse for over paying a bit.

I rode a '15 Honda back to back with a '17...and I preferred the 15 almost everywhere as did a few others. I am not seeing the massive hype around the new gen Honda, good bike, but certainly not an all out game changer. When I was buying new a few months ago I was either going Honda or KTM...after riding the '17 CRF it made my choice very easy...I went orange.

I would put my 15 crf 450 against any 18 stock 450. Of course my crf has quite a bit of $$ in it. The bikes not holding me back, its lack of talent.
