I liked the format. The track sucked.

Overall for 3 hours we all were a lot more into SX as a group watching. That has never happened. Big fan of it

Track was not optimal, the format is---but way too much downtime. These are athletes, they can go quicker. Oh wait, Supercross is a made for TV sport.

The track did suck, long whoop section was a joke. Racing really good, just way to much dead time. They need better content for the down time between mains.

|

1/20/2018 9:56 PM

Now that its over i love it way more than the old. I see the guys i want to watch race all night.

Motos should be 10, 15 & 20 mins tho. The first 5 min race actually made me hate the format. 2nd 2 were great

Format was good. Need to due something about the wait between mains. Track sucked, Houston track would have produced way better racing

|

Yea i think any probs were the track and too many commercials. If they squeezed this into 2 hrs itd be perfect. Id much rather watch this than heats and lcqs.

|

1/20/2018 9:57 PM

It seemed like format caused 3 great motos. Intensity climbed through the night. I think it's a cool change of pace

|

1/20/2018 10:01 PM

Fastest rider didn't win, make 1st moto longer and cut the down time in half and you'd be on to something

I like the format, the 3 starts and then overall winner and podium... But they need to have less down time in between the motos. Either another race, like a 2 stroke race.. or just end earlier.

|

1/20/2018 10:04 PM

Way too much down time...first Moto is way too short
Should be two 15 min mains with a b final for those that didn't qualify as filler to eliminate down time.

This format mixing sprints and a longer main forces the riders to display the whole range of their skills, that makes it more interesting IMO.
We use the same format for Paris SX (we just double the points for the long mains to make them more valuable for the overall) and the FMX lets racers their necessary recovery time while giving spectators a complementary show (+ we have the Superpole early on for first gate position).
So there are some options out there.
Or they could maybe have some kind of distinct support class like 125 two-strokes or something.

They have to have time to rest and the bikes freshened up. I would prefer some cool content on the track. Don't know what, but something. 125 race maybe? The track is likely too much for amateurs though, so maybe not.

Do I like the format? No ... but my gut feeling is it will be used at every 2019 round.

|

Better for spectators, worst for home viewing. Like it to mix up a few rounds though.

I liked it, I'm not really sure how I feel about an entire series like that but for the night it was interesting. As others have stated the track sucked so that didn't help anything but overall I thought it was pretty cool. The amount of commercials sucks but what can ya do, it's not like the other format was commercial free by any means.

Sucked. Those first motos were brutally painful. 15 of racing and 45 minutes of commercials.

|

1/20/2018 10:11 PM

70min of racing and 110 min of bullshit..... ???

Won't work as it needs to fit in the tv time frame....anything less than 15 mins is too short need enough time for the cream to rise to the top...the first two Moto's didn't allow for that.

Can’t beat the build up to, and excitement of one main event.

I found tonight’s format drab. No tension. Seely wins what is essentially a heat race, and it’s worth the same as Anderson winning the final and longest race of the night?

Main Event = the winner is the winner

|

1/20/2018 10:18 PM

I’ll let you know tomorrow.

|

1/20/2018 10:24 PM

I don’t get why the races are all so short. These guys gut it out for almost 70 minutes in harsher environment during outdoors but can’t be on the ax track for more than 20 minutes at a time or 35 minutes total? Run two 20 minute mains each and be done with it. Also I can see new viewers being confused with Ralph and Jeff calling Anderson the main event winner and then immediately saying tomac is also the main event winner. 3 mains are also hard to try and keep track of overall positions while you are watching it as a fan. Sure the computer will calculate it at the end but even during mx I have a clue who’s on the podium as it’s happening.

|

1/20/2018 10:27 PM

I'd prefer all 3 mains being worth points, maybe not 25 but something. With a bonus for the overall winner. 3 main events is a lot of racing to do for 25 points.

Which was the main event?
Oh right, all three.
Each one, more perfect than the last.
Which one do you think was the most best?

No no, they were all “main”. They were all the best.

|

1/20/2018 10:46 PM

Racing was good, way to much down time. Next time it will be DVR and fast forward through the down time.
