It's amazing that the human body can survive something like that, helmet or not.

How did he not break his neckor shoulder??????????????????

Man that is total scary.....Those whoops looked like concrete. The look really wide too, sorta like offroad whoops.

Tough to argue against the 6D helmet. Riders are getting off with less damage than it appears they should be.

That's a scary photo sequence.

It's testament to the shape Hampshire is in too. That kind of a hit might have done a lot of damage to most of us here.

Agreed. Because of the way he hit there is no way a neck brace would have done any good for him.

As far as the helmet goes, I'm still not sold on the 6D. Still too new for me to trust it yet. I'll stick with my shoei. But that's just my opinion.

Yea I think about that. I'm no longer a 165lbs 7% body fat kid haha. I can definitely feel the extra pounds when I crash. I don't bounce off the ground and get back up haha.

Just curious which other riders you are talking about and how do we know they are having less damage? Not trying to turn this thread into "that" thread either.

Tomac taking a digger in the whoops, Bell's chadapult in the Dallas SX. Was Wil Hahn's crash with a 6D? I know he was running Shoei for some time and may still be. I forget on that one.

I know the other side of the argument too. It's impossible to say what would have been the case in the other brand helmets. . .

Didn't RJ say in his instagram update that he has/had some bleeding in the brain?

*edit* It was a tweet, not instagram post.

Yes Wils crash he was wearing a 6D and cracked his skull. Bell was also wearing it when he chadapulted and knocked himself out. I read in another thread the other day that asterisk let him go back out that night because of them trying to promote the 6D helmet, which to me risked Bells life.

Well that's pretty messed up if it's true. Hard to imagine it being true though. You recall the thread by chance?

I'll try to find it again. It was just last week that I saw it. Might have been in the Zach Bell thread

Just said that I read it. Never said it was true. It could be a bunch of crap, but if it's true that's pretty messed up of Asterisk to risk a riders life.

Here's the link to the thread and a screenshot of what the guy said. Again, could be a bunch of crap but if it is true it's pretty bad on everyone involved.

You just hate see things like that because it could have been prevented.

Let me rephrase that, It should have been prevented. Hope that guy is ok and hope the promoter learns and gets more organized for the next one.
