OK, had some time, no Moto so I hit up the local Speedway track - good time!
Here are a few from the event.

Yes this guy lost it and and rode the wheelie into the wall.



This guy is my new hero, an ATC 70 chassis with an aftermarket motor, rode the outside of the track wide open for the win!

I grew up around speedway in the mid 70’s, thru late 80’s. Went to the Tuesday night races in Ventura, Ca. every week and Costa Mesa fairgrounds on the week ends. Love the vibe and of course the smell !!

Excellent pics,Speedway is a some of the most exciting racing around. Fun to watch on TV but just like any racing live is where it's at.

True - No brakes, solid wall...even the kids bikes had no brakes - Honda motor, but no brakes:

Nope, wheel spin slows us down and Fred Flintsone brakes and the spike to stop. Letting off on the throttle to gain traction speeds you up.Engine braking will put you in the wall or grandstands. Raced speedway a couple years when I had my shoulders fixed, lots of fun.

Speedway is awesome. All due respect to flat track, but speedway is a more exciting format. The truest form of bar to bar racing you can find.

Using the engine braking to slow down for a corner would put you into the wall. We pitch them sideways to slow down and turn.
