North Carolina Tracks

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 2:37pm
I'm heading down to North Carolina the 19th and looking for a place to race. I will be staying just a little north of Greensboro and Winston Salem. Does any one know of any local races that will be racing the 21st or 22nd? Not looking to drive more than an hour and a half.

Check www.d13mx.com. They will have all of the race dates for NC. Also check the Birch Creek site mentioned above, but depending on where you will be it's likely that they are closer to two hours from you.

One more site to check is www.zoocitymx.com. They started having races last year. They are in Ashboro, NC.

Lake Sugar Tree in Axton is a really nice track too. Not far out of Danville and right off of HWY 58. Think David Bailey used to own it, and Gary Bailey still runs a school down there on occasion. Their MX track used to hold nationals, and their stadium cross track has Saturday night races pretty frequently. May want to check it out.

NCMP is a good track located in Henderson, NC.

Zoo City is a good one for night practice, as is East Bend MX. I think East Bend runs weekly races on Saturdays.

Mike Andrews MX is in Concord and probably one of the best tracks I've seen in NC. Open on Thursdays and Saturdays only.

Sugar Tree is outside of Martinsville, VA and West of Danville. It should be closer to where you will be than Danville is.

Where exactly will you be staying (town).

Rolling Hills is no more. It was closed down from what I heard.

Xnationalwrench, the town that Mayberry is based on is north of Winston-Salem. It's called Pilot Mountain. The "big city" of Mount Pilot isn't a real city in NC, as far as I know. Just thought that I would throw that in!

That sucks. I googled their website and it looks like they may open again sometime. I hope they do, I kinda like stopping by. I do business in High Point and probably make about 8 trips a year there. I was actually going to see if I could catch a race there next weekend. I guess I'll just stop by the tity bar instead. I hate to though, I wear my good close while doing business and I don't get near as dirty at the track.
