I’m impressed he lined up. Physical fitness is such a major factor at this point, and he’s deservedly off the horse. Can still ride a dirt bike real well though.

Especially on a bike he has never raced. I mean how many races has Yamaha won in the 450 class in the last 4 years anyways?

I'd say he did a great job, it's good to see him still in the industry enjoying it.

According to Matthes, RV was complaining about lack of power on the high-speed track. (His engine was basically stock). Makes sense, he still looked really good on the bike.

Thats kind of how I feel, but then again that guy in 2014 was at the very top of the sport, with 4 straight championships. I didn't expect him to win, but thought he would still be higher up. He still seems to be in good shape compared to others who have retired.

Personally, I'm super stoked when these guys come out and race just for fun and are realistic
about it. (Like KW and Travis at MXdN) Particularly with RV who was so over it even before he retired.

At least he didn’t have too big of an ego to not line up after 4 years without a professional race. Very very few riders who were even half as dominant as he was would have ever done that.

Jeez, some of you guys need to tighten up. I'm not saying he didn't do well enough, I'm just surprised to not see anything on vital, that's all. But I agree with the poster who said it took big balls to line up, no doubt! I wasn't a huge fan during his racing days, but I'm a fan now after seeing his relaxed personality.
