That quad was fucking crazy. There was a practice vid of RC/Reed watching James do it, Chad tried it and framed it first time and got it second. It's nuts what James did with bikes with that shit... like all those guys are crazy, some more than others and then he's like, hold my fucking beer.
I feel like, unbelievably, you misread what he wrote.
I feel like if he was saying McGrath was as badass on a 125 he’s even more off the mark. RC wasn’t even close on a 125 and he was leap years ahead of McGrath.
we were at that race and during practice we were sitting right next to that quad he was doing coming down that fast straight. so fuckin' incredible. Reed tried it a couple times in practice, never got it like James though. our actual seats were over in the section that he wrecked the first time, like 2 rows up from the front. watching him endo over the finish was a kick to the gut. if i remember correctly Andrew Short won that race and never once jumped the triple out of the corner.
4 places... back side of takeoff, double, land on table, land on downside of table.
If there is no "hole" in the middle aka a gap, aka somewhere to case into, it is not a quad. It is THREE individual jumps, with the third one having a flat top and being longer than the other two.
Three jumps = triple.
Any other name is ignorant, misleading, inaccurate, and...well....stupid.

I agree phoenix. If you have a single to a table top you wouldn't call that a triple. A single to table is easier/safer than a regular double. So doesn't make sense to call it a triple. It's a double with tabletop landing. Or single to table.
We have a big jump at a local track here that's pretty unique. It's a step up double, or if you hit it a lot faster you jump about 50 feet further and downside the back of it. So it's like a big table with a huge hump about a third of the way you can downside. Don't know what to call it. It's either a double or a tabletop depending on how fast you hit it and where you land. But it's not a triple! Or is it lol?
Also, second lap and already had a massive lead.

I've always thought Bailey was one of the best in booth.

Such a legend.
