Usually they debut the bike at the team intro but didn’t see anything about it. Although the factory bikes have that new cross member on the front of the frame by the header.

I was always under the impression it was revealed later in the year.

Thought the production rules say you can't alter the frame?

Noticed that earlier and thought doesn't that break the AMA rule of original frame and swingarm required?

MEC doesn't have the production rule limitation. My guess is you see a factory edition with the gusset in the future.

I'm not sure but Yamaha had extra material welded on their swingarms a few years ago.

Like i said, i'm not sure but i think you can add material on a frame or swingarm but not remove?

I believe you are allowed to "strengthen" the frame, just not alter its dimensions....Or something like that.

Tomac and/or Anderson for 2020.....

Probably a piece of lead to stay over the weight limit..

It’s to stiffen the frame, they’ve had it for a few months (check out Monster Cup pit bits).

And the 19 FE will debut later in the year, around December.

I noticed that brace in Musquins bike earlier this year but no one else didn't seem to interested about it back then smile

I was joking. Do you know what the rules state on how much "frame strengthening" is allowed?

|

10/18/2018 7:54 AM

Rules say you can add gussets.

|

Take it to the limit, one more time!

10/18/2018 8:04 AM

Trying to make it stiffer!? Like an aluminum frame.?

Theyre not altering the frame geometry ....just "gussetting" it.... i remember MC's 93-96 CR250's had all kinds of braces/gussetts on the frame

i expect you ride a 97/8/9 cr250.

because

well

if you want stiff..

but if you knew anything much about chassis flex, you'd know its positional and often personal preference..

No, No first gen Honda aluminum frames for me. To much push in flat corners for my taste.
Simply pointing out to the aluminum frame haters that the factory ktm team is making their steel frames flex less. I'm just here to ruffle feathers about it.

There will be FEs and REs.

Nobody ever told me, I found out for myself. You've got to believe in foolish miracles. It's not how you play the game, it's if you win or lose. You can choose. Don't confuse. Win or lose. It's up to you!

Specifically, probably trying to make the bike turn better and feel lighter.

Do they run this "gusset" for the outdoors?

I think you can ADD to it, but can't take it away or change geometry.

The above may be fact or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting. I am not sure, you have no chance.
