I'll 100% be going if Pala has a national. But i'll likely go a day early and stay in the casino hotel and walk from the casino to the track to save my sanity Grinning

It's an ok burger, but it's by no means best in the world. Understand, burgers are subjective.
But I drive right past Nessy and wait to San Clemente to eat.

There is definitely some elevation changes at Pala. I remember some of the first year's it was a national, they had a really cool uphill hip jump. And Dean Wilson's leap from the rollers off the top of the tunnel

Could they do Hangtown to Washougal to Thunder Valley?

NW in May could be muddy though.
The NW can be muddy on any given day of the year. I've done more than one mudder at Washougal in August.

As long we still have Millville, Washuagal, IronMan, Unadilla and Red Bud I could care less what they do with the desert rounds. On tv every CA track looks like shit.

I agree....with that being said, I think you'd have a hard time finding a location with better natural terrain than Glen Helen.

The hills? Yes.

Not sure what "natural terrain" planet stuff like that uphill triple came from. Of course, I guess you could say the same for back in the day, when they were running the uphill with the road terraces at Saddleback. Wink

Make it a dollar and you've got a deal.

I try to make bets I can afford to lose. Wink

...after that giant jump stunt before last years national, along with Dr. Feldkamp trying to mess with the TV production schedule by having Tomac take a victory lap, I'm not surprised.

Davey Coombs reads this stuff, maybe he will chime in?

The Fox money will make Pala work, maybe they will build a giant mountain or something? Woohoo

I’ve gone to Glen Helen with my family every year for the last 5 years. It is less than 30 minutes from my house and easy to get to off the freeway and parking was not bad at all. I’ve ridden Pala once and while the track is fun it’s out of the way and I can only imagine the traffic jam on the road leading off the 15 before a national. I actually got lost a few times just trying to find the place even using GPS. Not to mention I got rear ended at the first light off the freeway by someone in a rush to the casino. I hope a deal is worked out with Glen Helen.

Natural at Glen Helen is hard pack dg and clay. What we ride now isn’t up to 1990’s standards. Review the usgps there in 92,93. Those tracks were awesome. If its pala I bet this go round will be great.

Not to pick a fight here, but why would you care about whether or not the area around the track is green? Sure, its kind of brown around the track, but the viewing is great in person because of the lack of trees blocking the view and the massive amounts of elevation change. I have plenty of trees in my yard, I don't need to see them on TV Wink I am there, or watching it on TV to see motorcycle racing.....

Watching the pros ride up and down the hills of Glen Helen in person is epic. I don't think anything compares.

It's a bummer that they are taking that venue off the schedule.
