One Ind- had a choice of keeping Ryan Dungey or Jlaw. Looking back, how'd that work out?

Pretty sure Ryan just didn't want to be on the same brand as J Law.

Private equity firm buys a company, wrings out every ounce of profit while killing what made the company successful, sells high while financial statements are still nice to look at, the company dies or reincarnates into something else.

I think One Industries died when they tried to make a rasta jersey or something.. I don't know exactly what it was but it sure did...

That's literally the year I switched gear brands. Rode with one for about 4 years and saw the crap they were putting out that year and jumped ship.

Didn't they have both until Dungey had a fit when he found out JLaw was wearing the same pants and threw them out the window. Huh

Yes, Falcon just stated that, in hindsight, One Industries was lucky that it turned out that way because in reality they couldn't afford a rider like Dungey. Falcon would know... He worked there.

The final nail in No Fear's coffin for me was when they ripped off the Spy Alloy in 2010. I was working for SPY at the time. I think around the same time we pulled all of the Spy displays from the No Fear retail stores. The next year everyone got a custom set of One Industries gear at the national meeting.

I went out and bought this stuff the first time I saw Travis in it. I was probably 15 or 16 and thought No Fear gear was so sick. I was kitted out in my No Fear gear, white vented tech 8s and my HRP chest protector!

To clear it up, yes - Dungey threw an absolute fit at the thought of JLaw being sponsored by them. He broke his contract and walked. It was very fortunate for One Industries, however, because they wrote his contract assuming that he'd be lucky to win a few races. The way I understand it, there was a big championship bonus involved that One couldn't have paid.
