I have been racing for years, now that I'm in the Pro class I am no where close to be able to afford to race on my own any more and have no outside support. But next year I do plan on racing a few nationals just to prove to my self I did it. I raced a few rounds of the Ams Oil AX series on Team Dirtbike Mike last seaon. I live up in New England and moving sounds like a great deal to me! Eventually I do want to start helping riders and support them at Amature Nations or Pro Nationals. With that said, I'm ready for something new! Dose anyone have some info on some moto related jobs around the country? I have a Class A CDL, I'm 21 and I can do general bike maintenance. I can throw throw some whips, and I just love the sport. Please give me some info! I'm down to do anything!

Good luck man. Fed ex, UPS, US postal service etc all pay pretty well and are great careers. Getting a job in the MX industry is tough, so look elsewhere while you continue to try and find one.

At 21 and willing to work hard he can do whatever he decides to do for a living.

Finding a travel job with the pro rank is a know to know type deal. You more then less have got to know someone to get in. Based on your post, your not so much looking to race but find a job traveling around making not nearly enough money. Sleep on it awhile is a great suggestion I think but what do I

I appreciate your drive, I really do, but you have to look at what you want out of life.

If you are saying "I'm going to do this until I'm 30, not settle down, no kids, just live the dream"....then by all means, go get it.

But if kids and a wife are in your 10 year plan, PLEASE go elsewhere.

I've worked in the industry, and all I will say is you aren't gonna get rich. You are going to work your ass off for little pay because it's a passion industry. You will be expected to do more than most for less than all, all the while you will be reminded you should be thankful for your job because 1,000 other people are awaiting your failure so they can take your spot.

Take it from a guy that's been there...it's awesome, it's just not as awesome as it looks.

Jeremy,

I think you need to take advantage of your CDL. You should contact and send your resume to EVERYONE in the industry including Feld and any other series promoter. Your resume should show the history of your racing career and pinpoint your work ethic and dedication. Your cover letter should request a job driving a truck. This could possibly get you in the door. You must be willing to relocate.

If you have no success hearing from anyone after 4-6 months, then I would apply for a job using your CDL in the heart of the industry. Move and start working in southern California. I would then hand-deliver my resume to everyone there again. I would work full-time and continue to aggressively network. If you work hard enough and are passionate about the industry, you will see opportunities open up. If after a couple of years nothing happens then you can live the rest of your life knowing that you did everything you could.

I'm curious and I'm sure someone on here has probably did it, but if you move to Southern California to work in the industry at say a entry level job, how the hell do you afford to live?

Class a cdl at 21? Thought you had to be older? So how many years driving big rig? These rigs are probably a bit more cared about than entry-level driver. 10 more years, then try.

I would imagine that you barely do. I've been in southern California for about a year and luckily have a good paying job, but I don't know how people can live out here on their own making entry level wages.

You're young dude , and seriously the world is in your hands. At your age I wouldn't get to serious about anything just yet. Make enough to live on and have as much fun as you can , while you still can. The life , career , family , house and all that other bullshit can wait. I envy you and wish you the best of luck!
