Hey Newmann last night i came across a thread that you had posted some pictures in with your bike collection you have. I can't seem to find that thread now , and i wanted to see if you had any really good close up pictures of that "White Mugen Honda"? I was always a huge fan of that bike........Oh Yeah and that damn 81 YZ was friggin' sweet as well!! Very nice collection you have there Newmann. It must of took a lot of work and money to put those bikes back together like that. Good job man!

Fortunately I've been blessed with a job I've been able to work 60-80 hours a week at for the last fifteen years without a real vacation.Sick Besides, everybody has to have their addictions don't they? One white Mugen coming up.

Spare engine assy.

Some skinny guy was staring the bike down at the Houston SX a couple years ago so I got him to autograph the tank. Got some good stories out of him as well. The old guy standing next to him is none other than Diamond Don Rainey who was there with Johnny O' and Al Baker on that muddy day in Ohio. Two very cool individuals!

Here's the production version of the 80 model CR125. Fun bike, hauls ass if you keep it pinned. Has an aluminum swingarm added along with some Ohlins piggybacks and 43mm forks up front.

Good stuff newmann,
i really like the Mugen, its very trick bike, and having Johnny O sig on it makes it that much tricker.

The 81 YZ250H. What a piece of shit this thing was when I got it. Even the spokes had been painted. By the time I got through disassembling it and throwing junk away I was basically left with a frame , swingarm and some hubs. I sunk some money into it and a good bit of time. Still have considerably less than a new 450 cost at the time though. Built it in the latter part of 04 and have raced it off and on since then. Bet it's worth more than an 04 model 450 right now. That's the best part about the older ones, they do hold their value quite well. And you do not have to replace them every year to "keep up".

Newmann.....that YZ is worth A lot more than some 04' 450....i'll guarantee that! I'd put that thing up in my vaulted living room a show piece!

Question.....I know most everything you can find for these older bikes are out there if you look hard enough , but where would you go to get replacement plastics? Is there an outfit out there that still makes them?

Just so you know , i have been in a long process of restoring my dads old bike. But it's damn near impossible to find parts for it. It's a 1969 Kawasaki 238 Flying "M". My dad bought brand new at the time. He mentioned that it was the last "red tanked" Kawasaki sold in the NW at that time , but i can't be sure.

I blew up my XR75 when i was 12 , and dad couldn't afford to buy me a new bike , so he said " Take the 238 out then!" So i did , and rode that thing for about 2-3 years , until the bottom end went out. It's been sitting ever since , but have a machinist dude i know will to cnc me some new parts as soon as i'm ready.

Under construction, waiting on a damn set of custom built radiators. 150cc of Williams built stroker motor, PSI carb, PC exhaust. Should be fun. Has taken way to long to build.

I've asked before but Newmann, please post pics of all your bikes like you did the Mugen. I'd love to see four to twenty-five shots of each one of those bikes.

I would love to build me one of those 150's. How does the swingarm bolt to the engine? Do you have to make any adjustments or spacers for those?

Small spacer for each side, one wider than the other to center the engine. Had to raise the "Y" piece on the front down tube a couple inches and reshape or build new lower frame rails under the engine. New upper head stays, coil mount brackets, custom radiators, kickstart lever from a KX250 to clear the alum frame and had to piece together an air boot from a KX125 and a KX250F because I couldn't find anything else to fit.

Gerard Rond's 77 OW27 Yamaha. Not totally correct, but works parts are hard to come by. Anyone got a spare set of works forks laying around?

Steve Wise Replica 77 CR125. Mugen engine, Simon's front end, Fox /Thor swingarm, Fox Airs. Might have seen Steve ripping on it in Racer X about two years ago or at the Freestone National last year. Always thought this was the coolest looking Elsinore ever and collected parts for about eight years before the correct swingarm surfaced one day.

Steve at the Houston SX a few years back.

For the XR75 fans. Not mine, but built by a friend and donated for the David Bailey benefit auction a few years back. I had everything powdercoated for it and did the paintwork on the tank ,fenders and side panels. Lots of people jumped on to help out on this one. Bill 163 here on Vital handled the engine rebuild, re-mx.com donated some parts and Works Performance donated the rear shocks. Dana K coughed up about $9500.00 to take it home outbidding Mike Metzger and Andrew Shorts wife. Cool project for a good cause.
