Hey Guys,
I've searched on the forum for this but there a minimal answers and some are pretty old or not as helpful as I'd wished. Doesn't seem to be many responses under the Photo/Vid section either :/
I basically want a camera for good quality photos, ability to film at a higher FPS for video and stay under $600 new (for the body) or used.
Any thoughts on a list of models that I can sink my teeth into and start my web search on?
Thank you!!!

But after that, are you going to be doing sports/action photography? because your lens cost may surprise you for a decent focal length.

ALL of those accessories are pure garbage. The tripod, filters, flash. Like real bad, but you probably wont ever use them.
Just that model Rebel body WITH a lens is 350$. You cant expect much from that, at all.
Honestly I'd rather purchase something used. Your bang for the buck is going to be a lot better.
Something like a used 60D body I think would be a good choice on a tried and true body. Then try and pick up a lens like an 18-135 or something.
keep in mind for any kind of sports or action where you cant get up close, you'd want something in the 50mm+ range on a crop sensor camera at minimum. So the stock 18-55mm lens is going to be ok for shooting photos around the house but trying to get an upclose photo when your 200' away isnt going to work to great.
Here's a list of DSLR cameras that fulfill those reqs.

Here's a list of mirrorless cameras that do the same thing.

Do you have any lenses right now or starting from scratch?
5D is fullframe older model with no video
5DII is fullframe with video. $$$
5DIII is $$$$$$
6D is new, $$$$
7D is crop sensor, more 'hobby level' but has video.
the only ones that are decent and in your price range are:
60D, 7D (not mark ii, just the original).
Cameras and prices are changing so fast you wouldn't want to look too far back at threads for information relevant now. A good shooter can take good pictures with any consumer digital dslr from about 04 or 05 on, and any film camera way older.
Keep in mind that the big money in "good" photography is in glass, not bodies.

I'm a Nikon guy myself.
Just start reading. Very useful professional input.
I have been shooting for years and I still revert back to His site for some good reading and learning.
As far a purchasing I use B&H Photo.

For instance, the 70-300 f4.5-6 lens is about $100 and it will take plenty good photos once you know how to set your camera up.
here's a couple random shots of mine for reference:
(disclaimer, they are screenshots because I don't have the files on this computer)
EDIT: just noticed that you bought the t5i. I thing you made a great choice! If you have any questions I"m always open to sharing what I've learned as far as camera setup and what not... but I"m not master photographer, that's for sure.
Now you can start filling out your kit to get good pics.
Canon 200-400
And you thought bikes were bad. "A Kit" syndrome infects photog's too
Since I've started shooting, I"ve bought the 70-200mm f2.8 IS and the 24-70mm f2.8 usm. There's a few grand already and still planning to get a few more small lensess. Not to mention the Manfrotto tripod, the incase camera bag, the speedlights, etc, etc. It gets expensive QUICK!!!
