Looking at buying a new pit bike off the showroom floor. They hold their value so much and get beat to crap so I’d rather buy new than used.

The klx is old faithful, but I like the idea of efi on the crf. I assume the biggest advantages are going to be the efi on the crf and availability of after market parts for the klx?

It will stay stock and be used in the backyard and at some mini tracks like breezewood and happy ramblers. Any input is appreciated!

I’m biased to the Kawi, but I didn’t know that the CRF had EFI? I’d probably go with EFI 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you are keeping it stock I would go CRF due to never having to screw with a carb.

I love my KLX but the carb needs cleaning AGAIN so I voted Honda.

I have a 2018 klx110L and I’m about to sell it and buy a Honda. At first I thought the clutch would be awesome for shredding, but soon realized half the time on a mini bike you’d like a free hand for a beer or to bring trash cans up the driveway etc. Sucks have a clutch.

Yamaha didn't make the list ? I have a ttr 110 with a clutch kit. It's still full auto for cruising with a beer, or you can use the clutch if you want, like a recluse. Best of both worlds, plus it's 4 speed, not sure if the crf or klx are ? It's perfect for teaching kids how to use a clutch. My wife got it for me for Christmas a few years ago, it came with a pipe. I put some bbr fat guy springs on it and took the seat to a boat upholstery place and said "I want a tall thick seat like the old Honda minitrails" It's ugleeeeee as fuck, but it's also the most comfortable 110 on the planet, it soaks up chop like it's not even there. Everyone makes fun of the seat until they ride it Laughing Also has a button (not that you need it)

I bought a 2012 ttr110 completely stock off market place for 600 bucks. My brother bought a 19 crf110 off the showroom floor for several thousand. Perimeter frame and efi is nice. But my ttr SMOKES his. Ttr quite a bit faster

I might even look at the SR110TR for the adjustable USD forks and hydraulic disc brakes, if it wasn't for the EFI on the Honda...

Get whichever one is cheaper... it's a pit bike. Aftermarket parts are easily available for both. Sure the Honda has EFI, but cleaning carbs on these little bikes takes 20 minutes.

The pricing is essentially the same. I’m probably leaning towards Honda. I’ll let you guys know what I pick up!

For what you are doing I would consider a Yamaha as they tend to be the quickest stock. That said if you think you will modify it then look at Kawi or Honda. If you plan to modify it a fair amount get a Kawi. I personally have and recommend a KLX 110L. Mine has a zoke front end, BBR rear end, etc. I probably have like 3500-4000 in it though. Mine looks like a mini 250/450 though and that is what I wanted mine for.

Just an FYI look at Ridersville Honda and see what pricing he can do. I bought some L's for $1900 OTD back in 2011. His prices have gone up, but I would still think it should be competitive with anyone else. Im guessing you will pay at least $2100 now.

By the way, for the same exact $$ an SSR SR150 will smoke the 110's... But it's a 17/14 instead of the 14/12.

If the ttr 110 is the fastest stock why is it the least popular?

i had the old CRF110 before the efi. I sold it and bought a KLX110L for pitbike racing with the clutch. I threw a big bore kit in it and it was awesome (although the carb was finicky). Then......the bike caught fire in my garage and almost burnt my house down! True story

You guys are total jerks for making me have to prove it with a photo. One of the worst days of my life a couple of months ago. When you go to a big bore kit you use a button-style air filter. little bit of gas dripped onto the filter...i hit the start button while the spark plug was out....BAMN.....a fire in my garage. BTW....this is the first time I've ever screwed anything up in my life.

Man, that's pretty big. To me, a pit bike is the last thing I want to spend 20 min dicking around with to use.

There's validity to your argument, but to be clear, I've cleaned the carb to my 2015 crf 110 only once since I've owned in (bought in Aug 2019 and ridden probably 15-20 hours at this point). I cleaned it when I first bought it only because the previous owner bought it new in 2015, rode it for an hour, and then let it sit for 4 years.

What’s your definition of pit bike? I want a grom or new monkey bike so I can run to the gas station legally. Hey can still beat the pits up with it as well

Wow ridersville is very cheap. I’m a md resident and they are in WV. Would I have to title it once I got back to MD?

Nope. I frequently check with ridersville before a new purchase. ..

No, mine were never titled, but I had the
MSO, I paid cash on the 2 I bought from him.

did you check prices on both the CRF 110 and KLX 110L? If so, what are they now?

Crf is 2299. I didn’t inquire about the klx because they were gonna have to transfer me and I didn’t feel like waiting. About $450 cheaper than anywhere I’ve found in MD

Do I need a MD title To insure a pit bike in MD or with certificate of origin work? Is it even worth insuring?
