New gear too boring?

Maybe I’m starting to get old, but I find the new riding gear and spandex look so boring..
Gear used to be so loud and innovative.
Maybe I am just refusing to grow up.. thoughts?




Bring back some more of this!!

I honestly think the look and fit of modern gear has never looked better. The designs are clean, and a lot of companies are making retro gear - which I am also ALL in for.

The “graffiti gear” can stay in the 20-teens IMO

From first hand experience over the years it is extremely difficult! Balancing a mix of clean and simple designs as well as out there designs within the range to appeal to as broad an audience as possible !

And back when people were bitching about gear being too wild, people would post the plain stuff. It is the same now, every company makes wild gear and plain gear, and they have for the past 15 years

I prefer current more clean look riding gear over riding gear that looks like you are wearing pyjamas. Only thing I don't like is "athletic fit" that most of the today's riding gear are sporting. I prefer more loose fitting gear and to be honest "athletic fit" doesn't look that good with my middle aged body either...

totally agree!

i rode the other day in my 2012 TLD GP gear for the first time in a long time and the fit of the pants and jersey are completely different (Looser) and was more comfortable to ride in. The pants fit like normal pants not skinny jeans and at 47 I appreciate that the most!

Anytime these gear companies experiment with new stuff people will go Sick or call it clown gear, unless it's from "the good old days" of course, then it's great.

I'll admit there has been some ridiculous ones over the years, but personally I loved the old alpinestars stuff Tomac ran that everyone used to shit on.

I actually really like it! I think the last 3 weeks the FXR gear has looked the best out of all of them out there. Personal preference of course...

Older isn’t necessarily better.

I like the clean looking gear. I Love my clean looking Seven gear. I Love the elasticity of it and how it doesn’t feel like plastic.

I think we’re getting caught up on the terms busy or clean when you just miss gear from the early 2000s era. Which is fine. That stuff was greasy.
