Very nice!

I sure wish they'd put larger tanks on their X/FX models...They don't need 5 gallons or anything...but a 3.1 or 3.2 tank would be very nice right from the factory. (Now that I think about it, I think the largest tank IMS makes for them is like 2.8 or 2.9...but even that would be better than the 1.8/9 gallon stock tank).

But otherwise, my next bike may very well be that YZ250x (two stroke).

I like how they are keeping the FX's in sync. Not sure how they are doing internationally, but they're selling well in NZ.

I was hoping for something in the engine department to close the gap to ktm but they did up the front brake to 270mm, that should make a decent improvement.

Love the red and white colour scheme on the four strokes too

Did they up the price any? $8,700 seems like it's the same price I've seen the last couple of years.

Every single person that I know of that owns an FX absolutely raves about it. Mostly the suspension.

I have a 16 250X. Oh man is it a good bike. Off road - moto, works great! Glad to see it didn't need changing. Why change something that works so good. I can see having a larger stock tank. Oh well though.

KTM introduced electric start on their 450 in 2007... 10 years later, the other manufacturers still haven't gotten it. Surprising.

I agree, my Katoom came with a 3.1 gallon tank stock and it's perfect. Holds enough gas to ride all day but nothing extra.

Honda is looking like having it as a option on 2017 450

Oh my gosh... Your right! KTM has had electric start for 10 years and STILL they have frame issues, spoke issues, injector issues, AND shit suspension issues! Amazes me after ten years they can't get it right!

Yet people still buy RMZ, CRF, KXR, and YZF bikes every day. Maybe its not THAT big of an issue?

buy a YZ450FX and change the gearing! I stripped all the gear off my 16 WR450f and raced it MX and it was mint couldn't tell much difference from my 14 YZ450f except when i binned it in a deep rut i just hit the button and off i went while the 2 guys that slammed into the back of me stalled it where still kicking there bikes!

You'd probably want to change the suspension on the FX...it's valved for off road and would be on the soft side for MX (well for a faster MX rider...it would work great for 80% of riders...in fact the average rider would be fine on stock gearing and suspension).

So glad the white/black rear fender fad seemed to pass.

With all the threads on here about cone valve and ohlins, I think that yammy still has some appeal

Love the red and white colour scheme on the four strokes too
No catching up needed. The motor is already just as strong as the KTM.

Perhaps they didn't adopt electric start this year in order to maintain their price point. They would probably need to shave some weight when they do integrate electric start. Honda had electric start on their Japanese prototype, and was expected to include it on their 2017 production models, but that didn't materialize either. 2018 may be the year it becomes available on both the CR and YZ 450s.

If you believe some rumors, it will only be available as an option.

It's only the Yamaha frames that break these days!
