New Tyga pipes for YZ250

Edited Date/Time 11/9/2018 9:43am
Just checking the new stuff from Tyga and noticed the first MX pipe for a YZ250 (since 2005) whilst checking out NSR250 products. Pretty fairly priced. I have a set of two for my NSR250; Very nicely welded. YZ250 owners should buy a bunch so they start doing some Honda models.

There is a thread that is about 3 years strong on thumper on this pipe. Safe to say they have done every amount of testing and r&d you can possibly do to develop the baddest pipe on the market. Dyno sheets, race condition, track and trail, they put this pipe through the ringer over the last 3 years to get the final product. They are working on a pipe for the yz295-300's now.

That's pretty cool, it looks like they'll just offer one silencer, with a number of different swap-able "tail pipes" to go on different models/manufacturers? That's the only reason I can think of why they would sell the complete exhaust assembly in three pieces.

Quality looks top notch, would love to have one for my KTM

If we discuss something as beautiful as this masterpiece , we should at least throw up a picture. Sweet baby Jesus that this thing is a work of art! If it isn't 100% moto porn I have no idea what is.

The 3 bolt type of connection is how the silencers on the original Honda NSR250s bolted onto the expansion chambers. And they've just used the same end on the silencer for the YZ, and like you said, probably just different mid pipes to make the silencers universal (or cross-model). No real disadvantages I can see; Maybe a little heavier but the Tyga stuff is generally pretty light. Whoever buys one should weigh it, new, against a FMF or PC pipe. The Tyga pipes for my NSR250 are over 3KG LIGHTER than stock. I can't remember the exact amount but the reduction in weight savings was worth it, let alone a boost in engine performance. The YZ pipe won't be as big of a weight saving, but should be a performance boost nonetheless.

I wonder how well the silencer would work with a Pro Circuit pipe?

The pipe is almost too nice to even ride with. That thing is a work of art!!!

Has anyone got one for their bike? I was just wondering how a stainless pipe will hold up on a 2-stroke? I work with welding and a lot stainless steel pipes and know that stainless has a tendancy to crack easker then regular steel. But i have been thinking also a lot about how cool it would be with stainless 2-stroke pipes!
