There aren’t a lot of good pics of them. I just received mine and thought I’d share a better look at them.

You’re welcome! I have one of those as well. I like the fit of my 6D’s better. Both are great helmets though.

Are those "6D" stickers or painted on?

They, like all other 6D helmets are painted on.

Did you have the ATR1 before the ATR2? I only had ATR1, is there a big difference? Looks cool though!

I can wear one for MX but not for riding many hours in the woods. I’m too used to an Airoh now. 6D just makes me feel like a bobble head riding technical stuff.

I had an atr1 and now an atr2. The 2 is noticeably lighter and seems better fit and finish overall. I’m happy and would buy another if I crashed this one out. I don’t find it heavy or overly large. I’ve had top tier lids from several, but not all of the major brands and feel the 6D offers the best overall package of protection, quality, weight and venting. It also happens to fit my head really well which is super important.

The atr-2 is a much better product than the 1. Lighter and better fit. Still not my favorite over the Bell Flex and tLD4

I like mine. Had an atr1 previously, the atr2 is definatly lighter, vents better, and i can hear more. Just got the 21 havoc, was expecting a glossy helmet, but digging the matte!

I just picked up an ATR-1 in matte black. I tried both and had a slight preference for the 1 over the 2. Fits me perfect after I replaced the standard 40mm cheekpads with 35mm ones. I've been wearing Arai's for 25 years on street, road race track and dirt so this is a big change for me!

I always felt like a bobble head wearing an ATR-1.

I agree that the old ones looked huge. Honestly, this new ATR-2 is no bigger than other helmets I have. It feels lighter than my others too.

I wish the ATR2 fit me well, it’s a great helmet, just not the right shape for my skull. Shoei for me so long as the 6D helmets fit the way they do. I just couldn’t get it far enough down. My head is wider up top and in back than average. I guess this is common in Japan, so makes sense the Shoei fits like a glove.

Big seller for me with 6D was their outstanding customer service. I had ordered directly from them, was back and forth several times trying to find the right fit. Ultimately the ATR1 was the one that worked for me. The fellow at 6d gave me his personal number to call him with feedback on the helmet and to ensure it was what I expected. Told him it was a bit of a tight fit on my cheeks, next thing I know there is a pair of 35mm cheek pads at my front door with a return slip for the OEM 40mm pads. I call them up and ask what's up and they simply respond "we aren't going to charge you for cheekpads that don't fit".

I've read and heard the stories about these people and frankly - they left the impression with me that helmets are their only business and they are doing everything they can to make the worlds best helmets backed by the best customer service.

I normally am not one to pat anyone on the back, but this was well above what I expected.

After doing research on 6D tech and a long time Arai customer, I'm getting ready to make the switch but had an opportunity to try on a variety of 6D helmets to figure out sizing and have to say I was disappointed in the fit and feel compared to the Arai. My perception is the technology is advantageous but not as well built and comfy as the Arai. Any other users make the switch and adapt?

Mine was VERY snug around the outer jaw and I was concerned I got the wrong size. Almost painful to wear as I wore it around the house a bit. I double checked the size chart and remeasured my head. I was in the correct range for the Large I bought. 2 rides in and Its like its not even there. Perfect fit. These 6D's definitely need to be broken in.

this was my first 6D after 25 years of wearing Arai. Agree the shell finish isn't anywhere near Arai (nothing is in my opinion) but the fit is working for me after some minor adjustments with cheekpads. I do quite like the tech having had a concussion before so appreciate the effort to deal with the small hits as well as the big hit. I still wear Arai for road/track because my concern there is the big hit at high speeds.

After wearing Bells for the last 6 years of my life, I was looking for a change and had a deal to get an ATR-2. I have now worn it twice and I love it. The fit is a little different than my bell Flex, but in a better way. I wore a Medium with 45mm cheek pads in my bell and I am wearing a Medium with 55mm cheek pads in my 6D if that helps anyone. Customer service with 6D is top notch and the quality of the helmet is top notch. Nothing against the Bell Moto9 Flex, but I was looking for a change and didn't like the look of the new Moto 10s. Cheers!

Agreed! The 6D' atr-2 feels great and very light IMHO.

Hmm, maybe I should have tried to break mine in. Scary to do with a 600+ dollar helmet.

I found that my vision was pretty restricted, as the helmet just sat too high up on me, so the chin bar was really high. This was even with large pads in the medium shell (and I measure for a medium). Anyone have this issue?

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe I just need to accept that it won't be as comfy as the Arai and make the switch!
