Haha!!....holy shit! Proves my point I was trying to make above.

And btw.....there is no way 44,315 people jumped in this thread and actually clicked that dis-like button. Made some auto-bot system go all haywire.

Wow. 44k dislikes for simply stating there was a new feature added to the site.

Not sure what's going on with the site but there's an awful lot of lurkers out there that need to sign up and start joining the discussions.

For the record IDGAF about the amount of likes and dislikes. Just found it amusing.

Carry on...

I wouldn't put to much thought on it Mav. I think about 99 percent of those are fake.

Definitely some sort of bot someone got to thumbs down the post, there isn't even 3000 views on the thread.

Yeah, in just a few hours the weakness of the “thumbs up and down” game has been discovered and abused... Weldone on the solid addition to the forum!! :D

Can I post some bland, positive stuff so I get loads of Likes and then edit it to my real, controversial opinion so it looks like everyone agrees with me?

That would be awesome.

The funny part is I thought it would bring lots of "up", whereas currently people use it to put as much "down" as they can.

Missed your xanax ? Laughing

Just kidding. I see where this could be going. A like on a comment about a 2019 Husky 125, could/should focus advertising in your direction?

Dislikes on comments aren't forwarded to users personal email? Utopia has finally arrived!

I'm on another site that has a like and dislike feature. It works well. The newness will wear off and it'll become more of a productive tool.

Jeffro, I don't think GuyB is going to go click happy based on dislikes alone. From what I can tell, he'll use it as an indicator to more quickly find the trolls looking to stir up shit. If he sees a bunch of downvotes, then looks at their posting and sees it's all just a genuine but unpopular opinion, I doubt he'll click the person.

It's a new feature with a bug. . . it'll get worked out. I'm sure they can find those who abuse it also.

The negativity is strong with some people (and I'm not referring to you). Smile

The home office has been notified, and they'll do some tinkering under the hood.

I understand that. And i9f it helps in some way to weed out trolls and so forth , then I'm all for it. I'm not sure how you even keep track of that kind of thing? I think a good start would be to have only member's be able to click those thumb's up or down. Mav's 44k + dislikes proves there is definitely a bug in it some where.

Anyone know if the like/dislike feature adds data to the page? The first page of this thread has a ton of dislikes and loads noticeably slower. Could be a coincidence

From home, work or cell this page takes at least 30 seconds to load. More than a bug, probably some kind of worm.... or Russians! Should I start canceling credit cards?Laughing

I see the ones that requested the thumbs up/thumbs down feature finally got their wish.

I find it better than the poll feature.
Now with new and improved numbers...

We've made a few tweaks to prevent bots and non-members from voting up or down. We've also removed all votes from unregistered users.

And just as an FYI, there's no ad delivery component in any of this. Your likes (or dislikes) will not affect what you see on the site.

Be nice if the thumbs & quote buttons were more subtle—maybe light grey. As is, they're way too much of a focal point when trying to skim.

Its a shit idea for a forum like this and it won't take long to become obvious. You can already see that very few people vote and most just down vote. Even good content from the admins will receive a couple down votes for no reason with few to zero up votes.

Is there anyway to turn it off, even just visually?

I really do not like it, at all. Feels like Facebook/Reddit ?
