MEDS, that is probably some kind of safety feature?

It will be interesting to read about the features of the new helmet.

Pretty much what i expected from it(more ventilation and new safety features). But i have to say that i thought they would've gone away from the aggressive/pointy design of the shell.

To boost the angle of the visor. Went on the center mount.

OK that sounds old school and way before my time.

Agreed. While the design looks great. I definitely thought it would've been "rounded" out a touch. I want to know more about the MEDS "Motion Energy Distribution System" which seems to be their take on 6D's internal shock absorbers.

Looks more like a copy of the bell flex system. I don't see any elastomers like 6d has

Well, if it's a facelift only, I'd hate to see how you wear your helmet. Looks like a chunk of interior changes. Wink

I agree, I think the rounded shape makes sense for safety and torque on the brain and spinal column. It seems to me they doubled down on the aggressive (dirt-grabbing) angular styling in this new bucket.
(Don't get me wrong, I liked the look of the VFX-W and own a couple of them).

The elastomer system is probably more resilient to multiple small impacts and gives a longer life of regular use. Still, I don't think it matters if they use EPS rather than elastomers given that almost everyone accepts buying a new helmet after a hard hit or a few years of use. The elastomer system has got to be extremely costly to produce.

Not feeling the visor vibe, and I've been running Shoei helmets since the late 90s.

Interested to get a hands on look.
ML is at the AIM Expo, and I know he was going to get his hands on one there. Look for a report soon.

i hope they justify $600 for a helmet.
Bell, 6D, Arai, and TLD do, i dont see why Shoei would have any issues. Plus theyve still been selling their old model helmet for that much.
