Not sure I'd want to throw my iPhone in a case and put it in harm's way.

That's a cunning invention, but screw bolting a 4s to your handlebars!

Kinda cool though. Definitely has it's advantages. The biggest drawback is worrying about damaging your phone.

For an on-road application, Yes.
Offroad or watersports, obviously, No.

The cool thing about the Go-Pro, it includes a camera at those prices listed.

I'm sure I'd rather ride around with a tiny GoPro attached to my helmet than a bulky iPhone.

This is the only real similar competitor to the gopro. It has some nice features compared to the go pro like a big button to start recording for hands with gloves on. It mounts to your googles. The go pro has some advantages like removable battery, Though waterproof to a meter, to get to the 60m depth of the gopro, the countour you must buy a 40buck case. So from a feature standpoint, the GoPro seems like a better bargin.

How much is the Iphone now days, not only that, you have a contract on it. The gopro I have seen for as low as 150 bucks

If GoPro made a bigger button option then it would have the market more than it already does. No other company would be able to compete.

I've seen the go pro hd at Costco last week @ $140. I was thinking I'ld rather have the replay xd. But at $140 for the go pro I might just get the go pro.

The only thing I dont like about GoPro is the way they tried their best to push any competition out of the MX/SX market. Pretty dirty move if you ask me.

Contour now wants nothing to do with sponsoring MX/SX teams because of GoPro. One less sponsor to support riders out there looking for help.

Im actually surprised it hasnt been brought up here...

I phones are very tough.. I have slammed mine pretty bad and it hasn't broke. I understand you dont want to put your phone on your bike but i think that case would be strong enough.. I mean if it breaks your still out 200 weather its the phone or the camera.

I dunno about that. My iphone (32gig) was $300 with a plan. If I smash it and want to buy a new one without an "upgrade" ready then it will be more like 500-600.

They will cut you a deal for a replacement. I broke my 16g last week and had signed a new plan in march and they gave me a new one for 180 bucks. They should have the same deal for the 32g
