My mistake. I was told August when I asked about the previous v3 cheek pads.

I know looks is probably not the most important part of a motocross helmet, but I have to agree with others on the appearance.
V3's look like they just rolled in from Aliexpress, and were the cheapest ones to choose from.
Probably the ugliest helmet I have ever seen.

£410 here in GB is very steep. I was really interested until I saw the price tag! That's Moto 9 Flex, ATR-1 etc territory.

I must be seeing sale items here on eBay, Moto 9 Flex £349.99 and the older ATR1 £379.99

So my comparison doesn't really work for RRP.

That ridge in the back ruins it for me. Goggle straps just look too high on this helmet

Looks like it has a similar foam design as the Fly Formula. Interesting that two different organizations came to the same design.

Will they release any safety data or is this just a cool helmet for insta bangers?

Have you tried on this particular new V3? I'm in the market for a higher end helmet as I've been racing this year and my Bell MX9 is very tired now. I was hoping to pull the trigger on a Bell Moto 9 Flex (great deals on them ATM, 25% off) but seeing this made me wonder if I should wait? I personally like the look of this newer one
Yes, this exact one. If you like the looks, the comfort is second to none

This is interesting stuff, lots of different technology between the different brands with different Doctors endorsing them.

I really want to see a comparison between Fox, Fly, 6D and Bell to see which really is the best.

ML, a few questions you might be able to find out:

1. Is the price set to compete out the other top tech helmets, or is it reduced due to the two shell design? (Assuming there is some manufacturing optimization that helps save money). I guess my question is why is the price lower, and why are these other companies not able to reach that price point? Is it the materials?

2. How does environmental factors effect the performance of the FI pods? Helmets can get hot on the inside, does this have an effect on the fluid dynamics/properties? What if it's cold out? I'm guessing the mineral oil is only effected by temperatures too extreme to expect? This has been one thing I have always thought about with the 6D and now the Fly is how those energy management systems that are primarily some sort of rubber material deal with environmental factors.

3. In the age of information, why did Fox decide not to provide any testing data such as TLD, FLY, and 6D have done to shown proven results? Is there any data they will be providing to prove the the FI system actually works and is not some marketing strategy? Or was there less emphasis on funds in testing it against the competitors?

4. How do the pods react to contact with water? Can they be wet/dried multiple times without any adverse effects to it's performance? I like to use a low pressure garden house to rinse out my helmets from time to time.

5. What comes with this helmet? Extra visor? Premium helmet carry case? Cloth helmet bag? Could the negation of these extras (if they are not included) attribute to the reduced price. Personally, I could care less about the bulky carry case and extra visor if it means the price is lower. I like to see the price war starting to happen.

Quick answers here but in the second video we touched on them a bit and I forgot to include on video the environmental questions but off camera we discussed. They froze the helmet and tested it within minutes out of a freezer and heated it to an extreme, the pods perform to their expectations under both and sweat, water etc will not deform or damage them any quicker than just regular usage would expect. They’re design to outlive the design life of the shell.

Have Fox released the weight of this helmet anywhere? I couldn’t find anything on the Fox racing site.

I actually like the look of the helmet. I just got the new Shoei, but I would have considered this one. I love that every company is pushing the engineering forward on helmet safety. It's great for our sport.

I have 2 of the new V3s and they're definitely lighter and way more comfortable than my older V3s.
