Pit Row
And to those of you who are fox dealers what do you think of the 2011 gear?Theres a few sets that I like but theres alot of them where I think were never going to sell any of it.Steel Faith platinum gear comes to mind.
I've been running them since '07 and never had one leak from a crash or otherwise. How old are the bladders in his? I believe it was suggested that the bladders be changed after a year... although my RXR I ran in '07 still inflates...
I will say if your sitting around in staging, directly in the sun,.... they can get hot... but you don't crash much in staging so you don't really have to have it on at that point
However...I won't be wearing one ever again. The side protection is lacking (agreed that a lot of CP's don't offer much here) and I've busted my ribs a couple times now wearing it. But my biggest reason for not wanting to wear it anymore is that when it hits the ground it just sticks. No sliding or deflecting of energy like you get with a plastic shell. The last time I crashed in it (Baja this spring) was brutal - I stuck to the ground where I hit like a squished bug on a windshield and my my body absorbed all that energy with bad results. I'm only guessing here but I believe that had I been wearing a traditional hard plastic protector I would have slid a bit on the dirt and deflected some of the energy from the impact. Again just my opinion after trying to analyze what happened. BTW - busted the Leatt & retired the Troy Lee SE lid after this one also.
