It looks like it's ready to pop a wheelie at any minute.

One of the families we ride with has one of the new dodge sprinter vans. It makes things so much nicer for everything. It looks like these are very similar besides engine

the new dodge van similar to the new Ford Transit has an 8 speed automatic trans. Good that there is some competition with the Sprinter Van.

The sprinter is rear , I can't see sliding a front wheel drive van , with out plowing strait into something at least with a rear wheel drive you can gas it to correct the slide

I remember reading that the first year and a half of production on the Ford transits are pre sold.

The transits are rear wheel drive. The big ones are pretty roomy, I just don't care much for the typical Ford short WB and extended back. I don't really give two shits if a vehicle it's fwd or rwd, learn how to drive. The promasters are lower due to the absence off a driveshaft, which is nice. Not super long though

You have the choice of 2 different lengths and 3 different roof heights on the fullsize Transit, plus 3 different powertrain options. It has a higher weight rating and towing capacity than the Promaster, too.

Actually there are 17 different wheelbase/ height/ GVWR combos you can get. There still will be the Econoline Cab chassis available for a few more years until they get the transit version setup. Main reason for the Transit is its a global vehicle. The econoline never was and a 30 year old design. I worked on this program and I think the sale numbers right now are pretty encouraging

Yeah, I should have been more specific. I wasn't counting chassis cabs, and the different powertrains and axle ratios have different GCWR's. Both of their engines are 1,000lbs short of our GCWR on the 3.2 and 500lbs short of the 3.5.

I've seen several of the medium roof 3.7 and 3.2's on dealer lots now. No high roofs or low roofs yet.

Yeah the high roof and low roof are ramping up as we speak. We are doing the final build phases for release.

Got a demo, test mule you can misplace?!?

The big three use my exit on I-75 for their durability loop, I see 3 Dodge chargers in a row every day

thats correct the dodge is a fiat underneath.

Over here the transit is the best selling van I think maybe they are the worlds best selling van as well but not 100%. In my opinion theres two choices of van in the uk the transit or a vw t5 all the others are just not as good. We have a mercedes for work and its the worst van we have ever had its always in the garage having something repaired its rusting out like crazy. Ive had a few vans only one fiat and the ecu went in that and it cost more than the van to replace so it was written off. Had four transits and never went wrong same with the vw's.

I know you guys have different weather conditions in some areas of the states so take from my experience what you will.

Haha no. I am just a Weld Engineer that handles the body construction. It should be a good seller though and built in KC. There will be more engine options in the coming years and a 10 speed auto trans in 2 years.

Yep exactly as I already said. Promaster rebadged Fiat, and Sprinter is all MB.

The Sprinter has 2 different diesel engines now, their little 4 cylinder is excellent.
