Just got the notification on Facebook (transworld live video), and watched. $695 price point, apparently on shelves by mid march.

anybody on here got any other information (shell size, design philosophy , etc)? I googled, couldn't find anything. they said the website should be live today.

update: editing the URL seemed to do the trick, not in the google cache yet

My uncle lives next door to the creator of 6D, Bob Weber. Nice guy, very knowledgeable and I’m impressed with how his company has progressed over the years.

Helmets look absolutely sick, and the technology in them is amazing... Too bad the price tag is that high unsure

Cool, an EPP-Layer. Very intersting stuff! I have an EPP (expanded polypropylene) climbing helmet. Material can withstand multi impacts and weighs next to nothing, but is a lot more difficult (and expensive) to manufacture.

This atr2 is about a half pound lighter than a shoei. I am torn, been wearing shoei for 15 years.

Was hoping nfl contract would help prices come down

But you can also send the helmet back to them for a rebuild. That's better than having to buy a new helmet every time you have a big crash. Im a shoei guy and have been for a long time, but even I'm thinking about buying a 6D when I get the funds together

Comparing to helmets with a simple MIPS system that cant be recronstructed... seems to be a good price

Kicking myself a little for getting an SE4 by the looks of the features in this helmet. Hopefully its a little more confortable than the last one.

Anyone find all the colors yet? That’s the one thing i haven’t found yet. The helmet looks really good so far.

I'm editing our First Look video on it right now...nearly 20 min interview with Bob about this product and what they've been working on.

I had chance to ride with the new helmet today and it is definitely an improvement over the ATR-1 as of how it feels on your head. I have to admit that the ATR-2 vs. MIPS / other helmet technologies data they showed in the presentation was convincing and they really seem to know what they are doing.

Dang, I just bought a new ATR-1 last month. I would have waited if I knew a new one was coming out..

These are very interesting. I like this EPP technolog. When you send it back for a rebuild, what all do they replace? The helmet is made to come apart too?

Great looking lid too!

I’m a Shoei Guy, BUT it’s good to know there are other companies like 6D out there producing quality and state of the art lids for our heads.

I got my first 6D in 2013, just as they had been released.
I've had 3 huge crashes (first crash crushed foot, second broke 5 ribs and third broke collarbone) and for every crash it felt like throwing my head on a pillow. Mind you, prior to buying this helmet I had been knocked unconscious twice and wanted to try and avoid that hence getting the ATR-1.
I swear by them. I'm on my second 6D helmet now and would not consider getting any other brand.

I’m also a shoei guy but to tell you the truth I was a little underwhelmed with their new helmet. I am very interested in this helmet, and for you guys complaining about price have you ever priced out a CT scan?

Never try to argue with idiots; they will only bring you down to their level.....and being more experienced, they will beat you at their own game!

I told this story a few times on the forum, but I have many good experiences with them. Few years ago I crashed really hard at the 6D ride day at Lommel, 4th gear pinned and jumped in a soft spot and felt over the handlebars head first in the ground. The crash saved my head literally, but it broke my helmet around the chin area and i was a little devastaded because I just bought it a few weeks before from my student job. Humble as Bob was, he asked me if he could check the helmet and came to the conclusion I couldn't ride with it anymore. He was happy the helmet did his job and gave me a brand new one. Now they have a customer for life

Looks promising! I wonder if they were able to reduce the size of it and make it lighter? The ATR-1 is a tank, not in a positive way.

ML512, is the new helmet actually safer by some crazy measurable standard? Seems like its a redesign that has features but mostly helps the manufacture process.

I have two ATR1 helmets and LOVE them.

Yes, it is safer with a clear margins. Check out the charts on their webpage as soon as they got it back up.
