Any thoughts on this bike having KYB suspension instead of Showa? Big deal or not?
90% of GP teams (other than KTM/Husky) run KYB, as KYB Europe's headquarters are in Lommel, basically next to the track Smile .

One reason ill never buy a suzuki, the oem parts are double every other oem parts. Complete ripoff how much they charge.

where are you getting Suzuki parts? That's not the case for us at all
I base all my purchases through partzilla. Cheapest oem parts. I build a lot of bikes and stay away from suzuki
That's weird. Never had any of our Suzuki parts cost much more than our Yamaha or Kawasaki parts

Maybe? Maybe not? Wink Let's theorize that it is production. I was just curious what people thought.
It's a huge miss if the production bike has any other color than black or aluminum. Makes it hard for other teams than factory to go with their own look.

Haha I kinda thought the same thing. Kinda came off the the same way as when that bike came out. Same small look. That being said them 04's were oil and coolant burning ticking time bombs!

They're usually higher. Crosscheck parts list prices for Suzuki/Kawi partnership models for easy comparison.

It may have the longest kickstarter to date.

Any word if it will have the magic button?

Sorry I did not read the whole thread

Good looking bike. Looks very minimalistic and modern like the Honda, KTM and Kawi. Can't wait to see it in action. Wonder what it will come through the production line with for suspension. KYB or Showa, air or spring. Last RMZ450 i had was an 07 with the 4 speed. Loved that thing
Don't know why they ever went away from the 4 speed. Wish my current bike had a 4 speed.

Simply not true. Some parts are more, some less, and definitely not all double the price.

Thank the sweet baby Jesus for that. This isn't a production model so it could be in the works. Let's not everybody be so quick to judge.

The European version of the KTM 450 has the 4 speed gear box, way better than 5 speed!

I loved the 4 speed that I rode. Was an 03 yz450f. Definitely suits the big thumpers

Yamaha parts are really well priced and comes in kits for ease and price. Suzuki and kawasakis are high. Look at any year oem valve set for a comparison.

It amazes me how much KTM back 14-15 years really did make a statement in the design / look of the bikes, i mean they were already there now we see pretty much every japanese bike with KTM style of plastic i guess it was unavoidable too but still.

I must say it looks amazing. I want to hear Rickys verdict even do he is a old bugger now he still hauls ass ! Very curious how the stock engine will be, since everyone claims it lacks so much power compare to the rest. Wonder wich year they really started to work on it, i mean Dungey was looking for a new one back in 2012 been a while since.

Best of luck for the Zuke corporation in a world filled with orange these days !

I have a '15 450SXF. If my memory serves me correctly, according to the manual the first four gear ratios are identical for Europe and US. The US model just has a fifth gear for people who want to go 95 mph in the desert.

Thanks for sharing the great pics (I'll abstain from quoting them yet again). For a factory bike, and one that has no production counterpart yet, it looks very 'production'. It's a nice looking bike. It would be nice to see options for blue tank/seat as shown, but also have red tank/seat, yellow and black.

I still think that the 2017 Husqvarna looks a tiny, tiny bit better(and it's bit unfair to compare since the RMZ is a factory bike) but other than that i agree.

Husqvarna and the 18 RMZ are the best looking bikes at the moment in my opinion.

I really don't think they needed to do much to the last gen bike to improve it. 5-10 lbs lighter and better suspension are the major things. It'd be nice to see more Suzukis around.

Looks a lot like a '14-'17 Yamaha. Doesn't seem like anything to radical, but looks tasty

Remeber this is the factory model so compare to factory bikes.

Honda wins for me but I do really like this new Suzuki, be interesting to see the stocker.
