My old man has "Loopers Beware, Crossflow Country" written above his workbench. I bet you can guess he raced OMC's back in the day...

There's a guy on youtube experimenting with eliminating the wristpin, eliminating flow through there.

Also a new design of pistonring, that allows for a MUCH wider exhaust port.

ESR has been around forever from the micro sprint days in the 90s. We were taking CR250s and bore and stroking them on methanol . Clutch gone, power valves gone, huge pipes and replaceable domes and a host of other shit. Was getting close to 90 HP out of a 270cc honda engine. They still race them back east.
It's all in the squish... ( post piston to dome clearance)

No kidding. The 2 seasons my son drove my Micro at Hamlin & Kutztown produced a ton of carnage.

The C.E.O is a revolutionary design to the modern 2stroke motor. The design has been worked on, developed and redesigned many times since the 80’s when ESR first tested it.
Don’t understand it? Well here is a quick laymen’s description of what’s going on.
On a 2 stroke during the up stroke fresh fuel/air is pushed out the exhaust. It’s the expansion chambers job to push that fresh charge back into the combustion chamber. This is where matching the pipe to the porting is so important. With the C.E.O. dished piston top, instead of pushing that fresh charge out the exhaust it forces it into the center of the piston. This is optimizing the efficiency of your fuel/air charge when it’s “off the pipe” allowing the motor to still run optimal even when your not in the Goldilocks zone of the pipe and porting matching perfect. This drastically broadens the powerband, and truly turns your bigbore kit into the “4 stroke killer”

Thanks, lol! So your the guy who gave me a hard time? Yes it looks better after I had the fabric guy tighten it up. I don't have any gopro action, maybe after I cover my daughter's college I could get one in 2-3 years from now.
