First time poster, long time lurker - great topics, love the forum. Commence with the flaming/hazing - I'll handle it with as much dignity as I can!
I'll be in Amersfoort, Netherlands from March 1st through March 8th for a family vacation. My brother and I are interested in checking out a local track or two if we can squeeze it in. So I have two questions for my (new) Vital brethren - first, is there any place over there that offers bike rentals? It would be awesome to actually ride on a track if possible. Second question - even if we can't ride are there any recommendations of tracks that we should check out, even if it's just spectating?
I'm not sure what our transportation is going to be yet, but if an opportunity to ride comes up I'm sure we could rent a car/van/whatever and make it work. It looks like there's a track called Leusden that's not far away and Valkenswaard is just under 2 hours away by train. I appreciate any and all suggestions/information that I can get!
Thanks - I will now duck my head and prepare to get roosted.

Not sure your AMA license will be valid but you can purchase a one day license. Tracks in the Netherlands have become pretty hard on this part the last couple of years. Beligum not so much. You can go to Lommel, pay 20 at the gate and ride all day. You wont be insured though.
When you are in Amersfoort, you should go to Andre Motors (Bikes) http://www.andremotors.nl/.
Its the nearest shop. They rent road bikes, you can ask or send them a email if they make dirtbikes.
The 6th of March is a Dutch Championship race in Heerde, pretty close to Amersfoort. www.msv-nov.nl
One other thing is, you need to have a licence from the dutch federation to be able to ride on a legal track in Holland.
At the moment the price of it is 60 euro.

You'll end up in Eindhoven and need a car to Valkenswaard which is a 30minute drive.
Not even sure if it is open early March yet.
