Explain this shit...

So you start out with a decent looking, brand new Harley and make it look like shit and that's somehow cool? WTF?

Ok, not brand new, but it looked good before they fucked it up...

Have to disagree with you on this one, the original bike looks like a turd to me.

its a 15 year old 883 that is bid up to 9500 dollars with 37 bidders..... i dont think he did anything wrong. If that were a stock 1998 883 it would be worth 2500-3000

Custom "patina" finish. I've seen people attempt this and it looks really stupid and fake whereas the bike in this auction looks very well done. Lots of effort to get that look evenly throughout the project. Two thumbs up for a proper clapped out look.

You never heard the expression "..... Eye of the beholder"?

I think the thing looks bitchin'. Hell of a lot more hardcore "biker" than what he started with.

I would ride it. If they could sneak a rear shock on it somehow.

Like ING said, At the end of the day it's still a Harley. Over inflated briggs and stratton.

My other hobby is electric guitars. Fender's custom shop has made a lot of money producing new guitars that look old and abused for the posers who want to look like Stevie Ray Vaughn. It's all about image, although the "stressed" guitars perform just like a new one. Doubt that's the case with the motorcycle.

Having said that, I agree the original bike was butt-ugly.

You can put lipstick on a pig and guess what it's still a pig. Like stated above in stock form it isn't worth shit. His odds of fetching a decent price was to do some "custom" stuff.

Was the shocks on the original fake? I don't get it, what the hell did they use from the original. The front disc isn't even on the same side as the original. What part of that is from the original, the gas tank?, the shitty motor?, The title?

Agreed. Poor thing was born that way and you can't wash that off.
