I've got a 2017 KTM 350sxf about 2 months ago when it was cold it would give me a problem starting if I tried to start it without the coldstart pressed and it would start at idle up and die. I had to bump start it to get it started back but once I did that it would start right up no problems and the other day I want to start it it did the same thing but eventually started So I did not have to bump start it this time I was riding yesterday and after a 30 minute practice session I was sitting there talking to my buddies we were about to take back off and Ride and all it would do is turn over if I bump start it it ran perfectly fine. But even after I got it started if I cut it off and started it right back up it was 50-50 chance if it was starting if I let it sit at all it would not start the only way I could get it to start using the start button is barely cracking open the throttle and it would still take an extremely long time and it would finally hit and start I'll pull the valve cover off today and check the valves and they're all in spec. I noticed the light flashing when I was riding and didn't think anything about counting the flashes ever since then it'll run the battery dead trying to start it which doesn't take long for the battery to go dead once I get it running if I let it idle I can't get to Fi light to blink again. Could a weak battery cause that I mean it'll turn over a good few turns before the battery drops or you can tell it's getting weak and if it matters the bike has 90 hours on it.Thanks for the help

I have the same motorcycle.

Replace the in line fuel filter before you try anything else.

Try your battery ground. Had a similar issue on 350/500 EXC dual sports. After trying the fuel filter, we found the ground was loose and nearly backed completely out. Just something to check....

Don't panic yet - with the compression release, a low battery, and lots of cranking rubbing all the oil off the cylinder wall that might not be that low - seems like I've seen youtube videos with not much more than that for good running bikes - I'd do a leakdown test - if you can defeat the compression release 100 PSI compression starts and runs in a wide variety of engines and 80-90 is where starting becomes dificult.

Check the connection to the electronic device inside the bottom of the air box (don't remember what it's called) . Spent two weeks extremely frustrated trying to figure out my 16 and that connection was loose.

Been there done this twice on two different 350's. The starter is worn out and isn't spinning fast enough. Buy a new starter. The torque limiter alone will not solve your issue.
